|---|---|
| 1. | Someone should flatten the field near the village centre. Platt Lane is going to be great when it's finished. |
| 2. | The play park on Nottingham Road is pretty pathetic compared to other villages. There ought to be at least one other park at the other side of the village as well. |
| 3. | We need proper park facilities for all age groups of children. The same as all the other villages and West Bridgford. The only one at school is pathetic and is only for tots. |
| 4. | Very disappointed with the outdoor play area for under 11's, compared to other villages close by, it is very poor in comparison. |
| 5. | The play areas and parks are pitiful. We waited ages for the kid’s park and for what, its rubbish. Cotgrave has at least 5 play parks and is always getting new stuff, why aren't we? The older kids have nowhere to play. West Bridgford has fantastic teenage play areas and all we have is a skate park in the middle of nowhere. Are Cotgrave and West Bridgford's kids more important than ours? |
| 6. | Much better kids playground facilities. |
| 7. | Think we are well provided for leisure activities. |
| 8. | Keeping the leisure centre should be a priority for Keyworth residents and Council. It provides employment for locals. If we lost it people would have to travel by car to West Bridgford and this would increase the pressure on the environment. |
| 9. | Encourage and support the retention of the Leisure centre for future generations. |
| 10. | Leisure centre must be maintained and enhanced, for example a second pool for OAP, who have to travel out of the village for this is ridiculous and conflicts with reduced car usage. |
| 11. | It is essential to keep the Leisure centre. |
| 12. | No open spaces to play games, if they allow organised games on a Sunday it leaves the rest of us with nothing all weekend, besides it is the RECTORY field! |
| 13. | There should be more activities for families to do together. Arrange family events on the playing fields and the community together. |
| 14. | We would ALL benefit from a park area, a community park to be enjoyed by all generations. |
| 15. | The services offered by the library are very good and the staff most helpful. I organise Books- on -Wheels and have marvellous help from the library. |
| 16. | Make the playing field into a park. Add a gate at the NW corner and a path to the village hall. More trees, attractive planting and a decent playground. |
| 17. | A park for walking and for sitting in |
| 18. | There is no park or garden for elderly people and others. Walking in the countryside is fine in dry weather but often difficult in the winter. |
| 19. | In the immediate future Keyworth is going to become an older community. Education and leisure for third agers is vital for longer independent living. At present, Keyworth hasn't begun to address these issues. We must. For example The Plan has a part for young people but not OLDER people. |
| 20. | Children’s play area is poor and feels like a prison exercise yard! A larger area with greater facilities, i.e. sandpits is much needed and would prevent us going to alternative venues like West Bridgford park. |
| 21. | More facilities for under 5's |
| 22. | We need better stage facilities for putting on plays and other productions. |
| 23. | An adventure play area for older children would be good. Also a small natural country park area. It is possible that the 2 lakes to the north of Wolds Lane could be for sale, which could be a lovely amenity area for wild life and fishing if it were properly managed and linked by footpath up to Selby Lane to make a circular walk. Also there is the field behind the burial ground, benches for viewing some of our great sunsets! More allotments should be made available, they are very sociable places. Keyworth offers an immense range of possible leisure activities but it might be useful if information about them all were pulled together on a monthly fact sheet. |
| 24. | Sport in centre of Keyworth is vital. Saturdays is not enough. Sunday- organised football or cricket should be able to be viewed by locals only walking distance from their homes - village life! |
| 25. | I don't know of any adult education provision in Keyworth. We did a course once at BGS but heard about it through someone at Bingham! What courses are available, where are they advertised? They're certainly not in Keyworth News! |
| 26. | Children’s play park is not good enough. Older children often use it and litter is left. Broken equipment and people don't read the signs and take their dogs. |
| 27. | I love Buzz gym, it's a real social centre, great atmosphere when football matches shown in bar. Although I do realise this competes with the leisure centre for custom. |
| 28. | Not a lot for older people unless you just like drinking coffee and listening to talks, which most groups seem to do. |
| 29. | Children’s play area on Nottingham Road is very basic and not necessarily well placed, i.e. directly onto a very busy main rd. |
| 30. | Not enough outdoor play areas for under 11's! The best is Rushcliffe park which means a DRIVE, not very ecological! |
| 31. | My twin 18 month olds have nowhere to play, because the park has only 2 baby swings. Not enough for toddler/playgroups (waiting lists) or weekly activites. What actually happens in the Village Hall? |
| 32. | Our household use the centre 10-15 times each week. It's a good service for all ages, but in recent months there are fewer facilities for 8-14yr olds. MUST keep it open. |
| 33. | The play area is totally inadequate compared to areas in West Bridgford, Rudd, Edwalton etc ours is pretty poor! |
| 34. | Play area for small children is rather small and disappointing, and not very visible to those who don't know it exists |
| 35. | Leisure centre is vital for children’s leisure times. |
| 36. | Everything about leisure centre is too small! Lots of the surrounding villages also use the facilities, if there was a "proper" large centre with catering facilities I'm sure it would be used much more. |
| 37. | More adult evening courses required |
| 38. | Play provision for under 11s is very poor, the new site at KPS is very small and restrictive in age - hidden behind hedge - poor visibility. Whilst I do not support football games on recreation ground on Sundays restrictions could be lifted for other use on Sundays so local churches/ young people could hold some events occasionally |
| 39. | The playground is only suitable for small children and not 6+ years. It would be good to have something for 6-11years. |
| 40. | The play areas i.e. swings etc, are far too small given the number of children in the village, have to drive to Rushcliffe park because of lack of provision in Keyworth, would prefer to walk to a local park. |
| 41. | Re organised games on Sundays, the church gave that space and specified that no games should ever be played on Sundays. |
| 42. | Leisure centre should be open on public/Bank holidays when people would be more likely to be available to use them. |
| 43. | The leisure centre is extremely important for the family, it would be disastrous for the community if it were to close - and very environmentally unfriendly |
| 44. | Comment on "restriction on organised games " it would be necessary to meet with representatives of Southwell diocese to discuss this. My husband, Roy Newham, had a copy of the original agreement, but passed this onto someone else. I believe KPFA secretary might have this. KPC should have a copy. The diocesan representatives used to be very stubborn on their "no Sunday games" policy. Most Keyworth residents do not understand the reason for "no Sunday games" so, if negotiations to change this arrangement are unsuccessful the reasons should be published. DL Newham |
| 45. | The leisure centre is an important asset to the village which must not be taken away by Rushcliffe Borough Council. Ideally the centre should be expanded as everything at the moment is cramped and having to use school and youth club. |
| 46. | Keyworth library services and staff are excellent. Leisure centre facilities and staff very good. |
| 47. | No play areas at all for children 4-10years, This is needed ASAP. |
| 48. | Dedicated off road cycle route would be good |
| 49. | The churches in Keyworth provide many activities and provide friendship of all ages. |
| 50. | The outdoor play area for under 11's is too small and not challenging enough for children aged 3+. A place the size of Keyworth should be able to meet their needs. |
| 51. | Use Platt Lane for more organised activities, this is supposed to be a community place and it’s only used for football. |
| 52. | Could well known films be shown in Village Hall? There's such a scheme at Hickling where films are shown every other week and this project has been a huge success (part of Hickling village plan) |
| 53. | There are plenty of opportunities for under 11's for indoor activities and playgroups for under 5's but we are desperate for more outside play areas. The small playground next to Keyworth primary is inadequate and often locked. |
| 54. | More could be done to improve facilities at Platt Lane and the Rec', i.e. buildings, maintenance, and car parking at Platt Lane. |
| 55. | Pool is no less than a private club for the elderly, swimming up and down the lengths. Casual swimming use is discouraged. |
| 56. | I have 3 children under 10 years of age and feel very let down by the village play facilities. |
| 57. | Not many safe playing areas for children, the park is very small and not great for a mixed range of ages. Don't know about any playgroups, toddler groups, etc, not a great deal of nursery provision. |
| 58. | Play park too small for size of child population in Keyworth, need to extend provision |
| 59. | I have only heard of adult education at my daughter's primary school. I am unaware of any other venues. |
| 60. | Feel that under 11's playground should be updated. |
| 61. | I think the children’s playground adjoining Nottingham road school is poorly sited and unsatisfactory I would like to see a community garden with seating areas for all ages - maybe around the old Parochial Hall area? |
| 62. | Very poor free facilities for teenagers |
| 63. | The public footpath being improved and information re walks would help. |
| 64. | Playground in Keyworth is pathetic, other smaller villages have MUCH better play facilities, I often have to drive to other villages to take my children to the park |
| 65. | We feel very strongly that Keyworth is let down by its park! If we want to go to the park we get into a car and drive to Gamston, west Bridgford or Ruddington. |
| 66. | Think leisure facilities in Keyworth are very good with most interests catered for. |
| 67. | I feel the leisure centre could be made bigger. |
| 68. | Keyworth leisure centre has been badly managed since the take over! |
| 69. | Facilities (outdoor play areas) for the under 11's are poor |
| 70. | The restriction on organised games on the Keyworth Playing Field (adjacent to the Village Hall) on Sundays should be removed - comment - no use it |
| 71. | A larger and better playground needed for younger children. Also a playground for older children and perhaps a fitness trail. |
| 72. | Keyworth play area for under 7's is poor compared to East Leake and Ruddington |
| 73. | To even consider closing the swimming pool is ludicrous. It would lead to many people who can now swim, giving up. Just as important is the transportation issue and fuel use, Keyworth is large enough to warrant local services. |
| 74. | Need more activities for the elderly, there's not a lot locally since the closure of Debdale Hse. |
| 75. | On the whole Keyworth has quite good leisure facilities. It would be a mistake to shut the leisure centre, especially for the youth of the village. Adult ed seems to be non-existent now especially for pensioners, which is a pity. |
| 76. | We feel very strongly that there is no suitable play area for the 7-11s. So many of our residential roads are crammed with cars that children lack the space to play freely. The play area at KPNS is for the U8's We would urge the PC to consider innovation i.e. to create more neighbour hood spaces where kids can play - to copy the German city of Freiberg and rather than creating predesigned playgrounds and all their inherent health and safety issues - to create at least 1 nature playground - mounds, ditches, logs, fallen trees, wild flowers and dirt! Let kids make their own entertainment in a space which is theirs. Bring back the play scheme |
| 77. | There's a great deal of leisure facilities, unfortunately they are often over-subscribed, esp. for children. Only 1 play area for children under 11, which I think is appalling. The area behind the houses on Croft Road and Plantation Road would be ideal. |
| 78. | Children’s park is very poor, there's hardly anything to play with and you can't go there when it has been raining because it’s all muddied up. |
| 79. | There's a good range of facilities for adults and children |
| 80. | The leisure Centre is important to Keyworth but its size does not meet the needs of the village. It should open at 6.30am as East Leake. I would kike to see the Library knocked down and rebuilt in the next 10years. Is Platt Lane open to the public? I think that the Village Hall is under utilised Table tennis and tennis always seem like a closed shop |
| 81. | Thermostats on the heating in the village Hall and Centenary Lounge. It is comfortably warm in cold weather but does not change on warm days and can be uncomfortably hot. Particularly in the Centenary Lounge. |
| 82. | Consider opportunities for coordination of sports and leisure facilities. The existing Keyworth Playing Fields Association (KPFA) could play a role in management - A service already provided by volunteers within the village |
| 83. | It is good for those in need and who can afford it |
| 84. | The play area next to Nottingham Road school is often locked or occupied by older children whose presence can be intimidating to the younger ones. Need facilities for junior age children instead of going to Rushcliffe. |
| 85. | When I retire I will use the leisure centre more. Would like more varied evening keep fit classes (gentle) |
| 86. | As a public pool there should be more free swim sessions |
| 87. | We need a coffee shop and a better pub which provides a family atmosphere |
| 88. | We need more outdoor play areas for the under 11s. The playground next to KPS is poorly equipped and maintained. |
| 89. | The new play area near Nottingham Road school is woefully inadequate for children over 5. |
| 90. | The play area is very poor for the under 11's where has the play house gone/ Surely there could be more 'age' appropriate equipment i.e. climbing walls frames etc. |
| 91. | I attend an aerobics class, which used to be held in the dance studio - now taken over by the gym equipment, which is debatable for the long-term use as people start paying out annual subscriptions and then attend infrequently. Our weekly session is well attended despite being moved in location to the 'smelly' youth club room and being charged the same amount £3.30 for an hour which we were charged previously for a very high standard room. This has been pointed out to them in no un certain terms by many of the ladies who attend. We value our teacher and her expertise and remain loyal to her despite the appalling change of venue! |
| 92. | I have concerns about the leisure centre. Now it is no longer run by Rushcliffe I think it's being run as a profit making business not as a village leisure centre. A lot of the leisure facilities cater for the elderly / retired generation for example bowls club, village hall events. Why can't facilities be considered for family events? E.g. a small cinema, 10-pin bowling alley, an indoor play barn. Think of Rushcliffe Indoor Bowls Club - it gives families (and young people) somewhere to go. |
| 93. | I would like to see more evening classes available and more varied leisure and exercise facilities |
| 94. | Because my leisure time is connected with horse riding and using the Buzz fitness centre - I don't use the leisure centre but I think it is important that Keyworth has this facility |
| 95. | It would be nice for part of the playing fields were made into a park where people (especially elderly) could sit and chat in pleasant surroundings |
| 96. | There is no reason for anyone in Keyworth to be bored as there are numerous clubs providing leisure and sports interests for all age groups |
| 97. | I feel that the play area (or lack of) for under 11's is appalling and an embarrassment to the village. I can honestly say that for a village of this size to only have one play area and to have such a small and mish mashed play area is unacceptable. Rushcliffe are supposed to be improving play areas for children (and have recently re developed Rushcliffe park) but seem to constantly overlook the facilities required for the young people of Keyworth. In a time when everyone is trying to tackle childhood obesity, the lack of outdoor facilities for our young children in Keyworth is UNACCEPTABLE! |
| 98. | The leisure facilities I use are supplied outside Keyworth |
| 99. | Too much of the Parish Council budget is focussed towards KPFA activities. Tollerton has much better provision for young people because it has retained its playing field and not sub let it. The playing field should be for the whole of the village and not just for the marginal few who are good at sport or for those from outlying villages who have membership of facilities subsidised by our parish precept |
| 100. | See page 8 |
| 101. | We feel that the play facilities for the small children at Nottingham Road are poor in comparison to Ruddington or West Bridgford. We are pleased that the hedge has been lowered. |
| 102. | Question 20 part 8 - Not sure part 10 - depends, sometimes |
| 103. | Open spaces would be good idea |
| 104. | Most leisure activities in Keyworth are very costly |
| 105. | Village Hall should be available for hire on Sundays. Organised games on Sundays should be allowed but limited to time for example. either morning or afternoon but NOT both. |
| 106. | There is room for improvement in physical activities in Keyworth. Need a suitable public play area, esp. for 5-11 years (who have no provision at present), with seating for parents |
| 107. | Village playing fields are grossly under utilised, only football and cricket played but no youth program for cricket. Facilities for the privileged few! Funded by the Parish Council too! Put more facilities for children and youth in the playing field. Move football and cricket to Platt Lane. |
| 108. | A better and larger play area should be made available for under 11's. Present one is totally inadequate and situated in the wrong place. |
| 109. | Every effort should be made to retain the leisure centre, particularly for swimming lessons for the young. I feel that leisure facilities in Keyworth are quite adequate. There is always the problem of cost and Council Tax should be kept to a minimum. |
| 110. | Clearly routed pathways for walks would be great. Larger play area for 8-11 yr old would be great |
| 111. | Do not feel the need for extra facilities, happy with what is available. |
| 112. | It’s a shame that adult education has been largely priced out of the market for many pensioners. Library very good |
| 113. | Adult Education - specifically evening classes are very expensive and seem to be used only for vocational courses with a training certificate or exam required. Some people would just like to learn a skill, for example. Painting, pottery, soft furnishing without it leading to a job. |
| 114. | Classes at the leisure Centre are over subscribed with little chance of getting a place. |
| 115. | Having leisure facilities all within walking distance of most residents is great. |
| 116. | For a village Keyworth is fortunate. There is scope for considerable development of Platt Lane into a truly effective leisure facility. |
| 117. | There should be more AFFORDABLE adult education within our village, to discourage having to use cars to go to classes elsewhere. |
| 118. | Where are the green open spaces apart from playing fields? Is Platt Lane just for football? What is aimed at sports for girls? Organised games on Sundays would be great but you need to leave room for others and so could divide and mark out boundaries etc. What is the old playground now being used for? Why don't we know? |
| 119. | Not much adult education in Keyworth |
| 120. | Keyworth, as in all leisure centres are expensive for wageless to use on a regular basis, encourage the children and young people. |
| 121. | Playground for under 11's is a sad little effort, considering the monies available, Keyworth has drawn the short straw. |
| 122. | Centenary lounge has been refurbished very well, but some coffee mornings children are allowed to jump and run on newly covered chairs, they also eat biscuits and cakes and lay the chairs down and play on them. Perhaps a notice on the entrance door, asking visitors to respect chairs would help. |
| 123. | Playing fields restriction is by a covenant, which SHOULD be respected. |
| 124. | Extremely concerned that development (particularly of green belt) surrounding Keyworth would ruin some of the excellent footpaths/countryside we have. We need to preserve this, maybe the schools could get youngsters involved in organised walks/conservation projects to help them recognise how lucky we are to live where we do and therefore preserve our village environment/identity. |
| 125. | Would like a public garden/park with seating/flower beds and pleasant areas to walk through. |
| 126. | The provision of a public garden with seating and flower beds. |
| 127. | More emphasis on outdoor physical activity, therefore I wish the Sunday restrictions were removed. Any activity should be encouraged. |
| 128. | Platt lane facilities are only important to the clubs that use them, they would be important to all if there was something else there, for all. The only open areas in Keyworth are the little dog messed area between Croft Road and Plantation Road, and Keyworth Rec, and around the Leisure centre. |
| 129. | Better activities for young people |
| 130. | Need better playgrounds for young children, the Nottingham Road one is too small, quite often locked and has very little equipment. |
| 131. | Park is too small and is really only suitable for under 5's. The park should re-open where it used to be. I visit other villages and their parks are much, much better. Wymeswold is a much smaller village, yet their park is far more superior. |
| 132. | Satisfied |
| 133. | Everything is aimed at people with time off in the day, what about the workers? |
| 134. | Village Hall is badly equipped for drama and difficult to book for a week, even when you do book it you can't get proper back stage facilities. |
| 135. | More thought could have gone into the play area nr Nottingham Road school, the climbing frame is too small with really not much to it, the see-saw hardly moves and where has the lovely wood house gone! |
| 136. | Overall provision for leisure, social and cultural activities are extremely good for a community this size. |
| 137. | There are not many green open spaces for a village this size. |
| 138. | Adult education classes are not catered for. South Notts college is no longer on a bus route |
| 139. | The leisure centre is very good for all ages and we are lucky to have it |
| 140. | The health centre could have an 'ever green suite' for the elderly it might lead to more people using the gym |
| 141. | The village hall heating and ventilation system has not been addressed. The old-fashioned storage heaters are not satisfactory and the fans are unadjustable - blasting cold air out and they are either all on or off. Different needs for different activities |
| 142. | Keyworth has a good balance at present the loss of the leisure centre would have a huge effect on all areas within this plan |
| 143. | We'd be lost without Keyworth News. |
| 144. | Play facilities for young children are very poor. The area on Nottingham Road is tiny and often the swings are covered in muddy footprints. We go to Ruddington country park and will be visiting Tollerton too. Should have a better play area in Keyworth to walk to instead of using car. |
| 145. | Keyworth Village Hall whilst having many good features does not come up to the requirements of our Dramatic Society. You have taken the trouble to hang curtains on the higher windows now so presumably you feel that plays etc could be performed there, but the stage is small, the acoustics are appalling and the lighting has to be added every time we use it. The outdoor play area is dreadful! It comes to something when young children have to go to Tollerton for decent facilities, I understand that Tollerton has been granted £30,000 to provide good facilities, that area and Ruddington park are far superior. |
| 146. | I think that Keyworth is very good in what it can offer people of all ages. There is sufficient for my needs, esp. the various groups that are in the Keyworth Diary, some of which I am a member. |
| 147. | Library ladies are fine and helpful sometimes. Books are rubbish, not kept updated with new books. |
| 148. | Village Hall doesn't really meet the needs of the local Drama Group, there should be better lighting on stage and better access back stage. Also availability to book for one whole week of evenings is very difficult, we do manage one week a year, but that took about 5 years to negotiate! Proper stage lighting would be an advantage for other users of the stage as well as us. It ought to be a facility for ALL the village. |
| 149. | For under 11's, other than using the Rec', which is used by anyone, there is only a very small play area on Nottingham Road for under 8's. There is nothing else for young children and no similar facilities for children 8+. |
| 150. | If you had a beautiful park for kiddies the bigger kids would wreck it as they did before. Most people can entertain their young ones on swings and slides, trampolines, sandpits without the older kids upsetting the kiddies. |
| 151. | We have to travel to Rushcliffe park for relaxing and playing games. |
| 152. | A field for dog exercise, specific and secure would be an advantage. |
| 153. | Children’s play area on Nottingham Road should be enlarged. |
| 154. | Leisure centre is important to the young people. |
| 155. | Need a decent family pub with good variety of food, like The Pullman. |
| 156. | More development of outdoor play areas to include older children also, i.e.. West Bridgford park has balancing beams etc. |
| 157. | Need a new play area for under 11's, Cotgrave has a great one, we should have the same for our children. |
| 158. | Park is useless, need new one for 6-16years olds as in every other area even Tollerton. West Bridgford has numerous! |
| 159. | Leisure centre doesn't have enough activities. Library provides many more services |
| 160. | I would prefer to integrate with able-bodied people in some activities but I don't know of any group, locally, for people with disabilities and would like to get this information. |
| 161. | The park for a village our size is useless, it's only OK for pre-school children and compared to other even smaller villages in Rushcliffe it’s really poor. |
| 162. | Very disappointed with the lack of outdoors play areas for under 11's in such a large village and always drive to Ruddington park. I would much prefer to walk to local facilities. |
| 163. | It's very hard for the younger children who live on the outskirts of the village to use any of the facilities without being taken there by their parents. |
| 164. | No playground facilities for younger children. |
| 165. | Keyworth should be allowed to keep its Leisure centre, it’s an essential facility. |
| 166. | Important that we ensure Leisure centre remains open. |
| 167. | Play area for under 11's is fairly useless. It is disappointing and is only for a couple of children up to about 4 years, other villages have several much better parks and we have to travel to them, where there are better facilities and parking available outside of the village. |
| 168. | Need a playground for toddlers and children of all ages. |
| 169. | New play park is not suitable for children over 7years and there are no other free activities for this age group. |
| 170. | No play area for over 5's available. No adult education available, don't have car, interested in computer courses, parenting courses. Don't mind cricket on Rectory field but would be nice for families to have the opportunity to have that facility free for use at weekends, its OUR ONLY SPACE. Rectory field is a lovely place, more seating around edges would be nice, as seating in front of Village Hall is dangerous with cars passing to get to Centenary lounge. I've lived here 46 years and play with children regularly on the field, teach to ride bikes, fly kite, play catch, picnics etc. Please keep free. |
| 171. | Very disappointed with the outdoor play areas for under 11's. My 4yr old has outgrown the park already as the equipment is very small and basic. The grass often gets boggy making it useless in wet conditions. |
| 172. | Some people will simply not go for exercise if they have to go elsewhere. If those who are prepared to go elsewhere by car think of the impact of this on the environment. We are being encouraged to stay healthy and take care of the environment. A footpath going across from the gate on Selby Lane and the top of Wolds Driveto Lings Lane would be a lovely walk to the Nature Reserve and Lings Lane. |
| 173. | The library is always helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. |
| 174. | Sincerely hope we can keep the Leisure centre |
| 175. | My personal interests are largely of an academic/intellectual nature, therefore I have no reason to utilise any of these facilities. |
| 176. | Vital the leisure centre is retained. |
| 177. | Outdoor play area for under 11's is too small, my son is too big to go in it and he's only 9. Compared to West Bridgford, we have terrible facilities for this age group, we have to use other places, it’s a pity we haven't got a decent park. |
| 178. | Outdoor play area for under 11's is very poor and basic when compared to Tollerton, West Bridgford and Ruddington. |
| 179. | Keyworth Leisure centre could be cleaner and more organised. It needs refurbishing and have choicer of classes on offer/times. |
| 180. | There are plenty of activities available for all ages. Yobs who complain 'there’s nothing for us to do' are hiding their real motive for causing a nuisance to others. They enjoy mischief because they like to bully others. There’s plenty for everyone to do - a minority just don't want to do it! |
| 181. | I am satisfied with services provided by Keyworth Library - two ticks agree and no opinion - selected first tick |
| 182. | My age keeps me at home at night |
| 183. | Leisure facilities around the Village Hall area provided by the Parish Council and Playing Fields Assoc. are excellent and to stop people using these on a Sunday is a backward step and restrictions should be lifted ASAP. |
| 184. | Certainly need a play park for over 11's. |
| 185. | Disappointed in the lack of outdoor play facilities for under 11's. The area on Nottingham Road is more for pre-school children and then there is nothing until they are old enough for the skate park. Could some of the playing field be set aside for a play park. |
| 186. | More leisure facilities are needed for the many teenagers roaming the village at night. |
| 187. | "Physical" leisure in Keyworth is well catered for. I would prefer more leisure activities on the cultural, arts, aesthetic, theatre etc. aspects. |
| 188. | Compared with other Rushcliffe villages and West Bridgford in particular, the under 11's play facilities are very poor/non existent. Apart from 1 restaurant there is very little to attract people to dine/drink in Keyworth. Some up market establishment for mature people would be very popular and could stop people travelling the West Bridgford for this. |
| 189. | Library needs a bigger selection of non-fiction books. |
| 190. | MASSIVELY AGREE Leisure centre is important to Keyworth. |
| 191. | Love Keyworth as it is today. |
| 192. | Removal of Sunday restrictions could adversely affect residents and their properties and could take away the tranquil environment presently valued. |
| 193. | The park is a waste of time going to, as there is nothing in it for young children. The park at West Bridgford is the best park but it is awkward to get to. Why can't we have something like this? There are lots of children here to enjoy it. |
| 194. | I would consider going to swim but it would depend on opening times, 7am isn't attractive. |
| 195. | There is a wide range of activities at Leisure centre but they cost too much. The range of school holiday activities has also been reduced since Parkwood took over. |
| 196. | Leisure centre is absolutely vital to the future of Keyworth as well as the future of general health and well being of residents. Its local and needs to be sustainable, a core part of the village. |
| 197. | It is disgusting how the crèche was closed. The staff was given no choice but to leave or relocate to another Parkwood facility. They provided a much-needed service to Keyworth and those who thought to close it are uncaring, selfish and unprofessional. |
| 198. | I do join in some leisure facilities and I always find people are friendly. This is why I would like a lot of things to be left alone. |
| 199. | We used to have a cinema, the return of such a venue could also be used as a local theatre and may prove quite popular. |
| 200. | More should be done to encourage 11-18's to visit and actively take part in Leisure centre's activities. Instead of lounging around at home or on street corners. They should be encouraged to join in with community events, "make it cool" to be part of the community. |
| 201. | "Time bombs" are created by restrictions on the young, but control around the Village Hall is absent because we have removed by law, the natural power of seniors to organise the young in the community generally, as was the custom years ago. |
| 202. | Kitchen at Village Hall is not sufficiently equipped for catering for a large group, particularly hot food. |
| 203. | The play park on Nottingham Road is terrible for the population of the village and should be greatly improved and bigger. |
| 204. | Keyworth doesn't have a decent play area for small children. |
| 205. | Some villages have films put on in the Village Hall, could that be done here? |
| 206. | Leisure centre is vitally important to the village and locality. Many users walk there, less likely to use other centres and reluctance to use car un-necessarily. Advertisement of activities available is insufficiently widespread. |
| 207. | Domestic cooker in Centenary Lounge is inadequate. Village Hall is too expensive to hire. |
| 208. | Good if there were evening classes in Keyworth. I travel to West Bridgford every week. There is little green space within Keyworth, it would be good to have more green areas or a park. |
| 209. | More outdoor play areas would be available if schools allowed their fields to be used at weekends. It's a great shame that the village has these large wastelands when school is empty. |
| 210. | Library should open 6 days a week. |
| 211. | The absence of organised games on Sunday provides an important, fairly quiet area for people to walk and sit without fear of being hit by cricket balls etc. More use of South Wolds playing fields could help. |
| 212. | To lose the Leisure centre would be a disaster for the village. |
| 213. | Personally I find much interest, pleasure and value in Keyworth's societies. The Centenary lounge and Village Hall are real assets. |
| 214. | Library needs some up to date books, most were in there when I was a lad. |
| 215. | Believe we have a good base of options |
| 216. | If you want more, go to Nottingham. Keyworth is a village surrounded by countryside where you can get all the exercise you want for free. |
| 217. | Keyworth is desperately lacking in outdoor play facilities for children 5+. The new park is appropriate for very small children. It would be great if we had play areas for older children and teenagers. The new park at Tollerton is great! |
| 218. | VITAL for Leisure centre to remain open! It is automatically assumed that everyone has their own transport, THIS IS NOT THE CASE. Keyworth should pay more attention to people/families who do not own a detached 4-bed house and have the use of at least 1 car. It is becoming very class distinctive! If the Leisure centre closed most people do not have the time to catch a bus to Rushcliffe after school and the bus times are restricted after 7pm. There is no public transport to Cotgrave post-school either. |
| 219. | There ought to be more parks for under 11's. Why not replace the original park next to tennis courts? |
| 220. | Disappointed that Keyworth Rugby Club's home ground is at Widmerpool. |
| 221. | Sunday use of playing field- I feel for the local residents, but organised games any time are a good thing for the community as a whole. |
| 222. | Children’s playground is too small and lacks any interesting equipment. After 10 mins children are bored, the design does not encourage imaginative play. |
| 223. | I tried to book the football pitch but it was full up - even Keyworth FC can't get a spot. Are there tennis courts? If there are, they are well hidden. What other facilities are hidden away? Maybe facilities and activities could be better advertised outside the Centre to get people there in the first place. I suspect a lot of people consider the Leisure Centre to be little more than a swimming pool. Even within the Centre, things are not well advertised. For example, the two poolside family changing rooms would be plenty enough if they were used properly: however, they are almost exclusively used by mothers with babies, who should be encouraged to use baby changing facilities in the main women's changing rooms. Why not have people on the front desk advise customers on where to go and how their stay might be improved? I am sure users are not being inconsiderate, they are just let down by staff. The swimming pool temperature is colder than other local pools such as that at Cotgrave: I know a lot of people (especially those with babies and small children) who go swimming elsewhere solely because they consider the water in Keyworth's pool to be too cold. The changing rooms are a little tatty and could be improved for example by having less ants crawling around them! |
| 224. | Village Hall needs to be modernised and made bigger. It is expensive to hire, If it had better back stage facilities, re dressing rooms, it could be used by local drama society and the local dance schools. Library staff are really helpful, but we could do with a better selection of books. We do not have a local park, an area like Ruddington Country Park would be great, where kids could ride their bikes, people could walk or jog and feed the ducks and we could have a decent playground for the older kids as well. An indoor ball pool/activity area would be good for younger children, ( Wacky Warehouse closed down some time ago). |
| 225. | At Leisure centre you should be able to use gym facilities when you want to, without having to pay for gym membership. |
| 226. | Children’s playground is poor and too small and should be improved to match other local villages, for example. Radcliffe and East Leake. |
| 227. | If more sports coaching were available it would reduce the amount of youngsters having no interests and help the way forward for healthy slimmer more positive people. |
| 228. | Youth work and community arts can have spin offs for the entire community and whilst the festival is an obvious focus, the village needs a series of regular high points, not just one. Is anyone really looking to find modest sums of money to fund village activities? Farnsfield has a regular program of music concerts, rock, blues and folk, it just needs people to come forward and offer a little help to make things happen. |
| 229. | It would be nice to have a small childs playing area on the playing field. |
| 230. | Children’s playground on Nottingham Road would benefit from some all-weather ground cover, making it more useable after rain. |
| 231. | I feel strongly that there is no playground with slides, swings etc for children, the small area on Nottingham Road is only fit for babies and toddlers. |
| 232. | A proper play park for older children with more challenging climbing equipment would be nice. |
| 233. | There is no outdoor play area at the Willowbrook end of village. |
| 234. | Used to use KLC for badminton but am prevented from this now, due to recent changes. E.g. fitness suite taking halls for badminton out of use at evening sessions. Disappointed that our regular use has been ignored. |
| 235. | Compared to other places I feel that Keyworth is well served in terms of interests and facilities. What support would be forthcoming for classes, e.g? Literature/art etc for elderly or young mothers at home? |
| 236. | More outdoor concerts during Summer. |
| 237. | Outdoor play area on Nottingham Road is insufficient and when you see parks in West Bridgford, ours is pathetic. |
| 238. | Under 11's playground is no use. Mostly used by 11-18yr olds to hang around. It’s too secluded. Need to look at what West Bridgford has got and compare. |
| 239. | New play area in Tollerton is great, and for a village our size, a bigger play area here would be appropriate. |
| 240. | A seating area and walking area within Keyworth suitable for older and younger people alike, also those with disabilities, would be welcome. |
| 241. | Leisure facilities are good for this sized village |
| 242. | The restriction on Sunday use of playing fields, mean that Keyworth teams sometimes have to use pitches outside the village, we did for BGS. I know the covenant is in place because the land belonged to the church, but it is well past the time when those who go to church should restrict the activities of non-church goers, who are in the majority. |
| 243. | The old playground behind Village Hall should be redeveloped. The new playground on Nottingham Road should open later in evenings, esp. in summer. |
| 244. | Disagree with Sunday use of village hall playing fields is that, for residents living close by, Sunday is the day at the weekend when one can sit in the garden without noise from games being played on the field. |
| 245. | Play area on Nottingham Road is poorly maintained, the ground is uneven and very young children fall because of this. Keyworth News is very useful. |
| 246. | Cinema would be nice |
| 247. | Keyworth has good leisure facilities. Important to keep them esp. for young people who do not have the money or means to travel to places like West Bridgford. |
| 248. | As a parent of an under 5, I find the park poor, not a great deal to play on and the older children tend to use it as their "hang out". To say how large Keyworth is, its a pity we couldn't have a larger park for all age groups to use, but I suppose it comes down to lack of land and funding. At the moment we tend to use West Bridgford or Ruddington, occasionally using Keyworth. |
| 249. | I wouldn't walk anywhere on playing fields, esp. at night because of feeling intimidated by youths, never mind playing sports with my children. |
| 250. | Important to keep leisure facilities, esp. for youngsters. |
| 251. | It's important to keep the gym. Sports hall and swimming pool open, esp. for young people who may not have access to transport. Playing facilities for under 11's are very small and not always open. |
| 252. | Teenagers need leisure facilities and somewhere to "hang out" |
| 253. | Most activities for over 50's are in the mornings, some of us work! A bike riding group would be welcome. Some form of "buddy system" for those trying to exercise more would be good. |
| 254. | Outdoor play for the under 11s and teenagers should be improved. Larger playground needed. |
| 255. | No parking |
| 256. | Adult education never recovered from the cut backs in the 70s and 80s. Most provision seems to be vocational rather than recreational. Sport well covered Parish council has actively supported local Arts, History and other groups. Well Done! But provision in Village Hall is sadly lacking - rather dated. Keyworth has an active group developing Drama - provision is laughable. We need a decent stage with lighting suitable for proper theatrical productions. There is still a make do and mend mentality over culture! Local dance and drama groups have to perform outside the local area because of lack of provision. |
| 257. | Play area for young children is totally inadequate. Safety surface is unsuitable, the equipment gets muddy during Autumn/winter. Carpet surface in the old play area meant the equipment didn't get muddy, wet or slippery. Only 1 play area in a village this size is totally inadequate. Old play area should have been retained with an entrance off the Church Dr footpath. If bushes and greenery were removed it would be visible from Church Dr side. Both Ruddington and Cotgrave have far more provision than us. Apart from Skate park we should have 2, preferably 3 play areas for all children, (ages 5-15 should be catered for). Not all kids want to be supervised at sports clubs, like tennis and football, some want to do their own thing. |
| 258. | A very good leisure centre with good staff, WE NEED TO KEEP IT at whatever cost. |
| 259. | Keyworth appears to be ashamed of its young people. Its OK if your child likes football or cricket or tennis but otherwise where do they go? I didn't know there were any adult education classes in Keyworth |
| 260. | Children’s play areas are woeful. The present facility is embarrassing and cannot be compared with those in Cotgrave or Tollerton. |
| 261. | Used the Leisure centre more when children were young |
| 262. | There is nothing for the youth of today to do so they cause damage to people and property. |
| 263. | Go to Rushcliffe leisure centre as public swimming hrs are unsuitable. If could use on Sat mornings would use it weekly. |
| 264. | Facilities are adequate |
| 265. | Leisure centre access is fine, but the Buzz sports centre is completely out of the question as it has no access for the disabled and I have questioned this in the past. |
| 266. | Need another play area for older children. |
| 267. | I am biased as I'm general manager at Buzz Fitness |
| 268. | Not a lot to do in evenings or at weekends. At nighttime it’s a dead place, there's no social life. |
| 269. | A better equipped park for under 11yr olds. |
| 270. | Cheaper memberships and cheaper swimming then more people will go |
| 271. | Great shame that "new" play area on Nottingham Road took over a year to be established but then turned out to offer disappointingly few facilities. |
| 272. | Suggest all school staff and pupils have their own parking area within the school field, particularly off Wolds Dr. |
| 273. | Green area in centre of village should be a focal point for family to use at all times. The play area, ball game facilities and general play should be encouraged here. Platt Lane is fine but we need a centralised area. |
| 274. | Sport for under 18's should be free at Keyworth Leisure facilities (as part of giving 11-18's plenty of options)`` |
| 275. | Outdoor play facilities for 5-15years is unsatisfactory. |
| 276. | Too few suitable open areas for young people to meet (younger teenagers) |
| 277. | I would like an increase in adult education classes, Crossdale school would be a good venue. |
| 278. | Leisure centre is fantastic and doubles as a social place |
| 279. | Open spaces as they exist, must be maintained. Outdoor play areas for <11years are inadequate throughout all areas. |
| 280. | Keyworth would benefit from a sport/leisure strategy with a central "hub" for information development. Focus of activity development. Visiting cinema in village hall perhaps? Keyworth Village News excellent publication. |
| 281. | Display facilities in the library are very poor. Selection of books is showing signs of age. The use of out of hour’s space in schools is expensive. |
| 282. | Lack of adult education is regrettable, what happened to WEA classes? Cost of LA education/ vocational classes is prohibitive for many people and the emphasis on everyone having a proper certificate at end of a course is both unnecessary and a waste of time and effort for all concerned. Older people who attend adult education classes are not pursuing a qualification usually, but out of interest and self-education. |
| 283. | Allow cricket to be played on village green on Sundays. |
| 284. | Definitely a requirement for a safe, clean children’s park, picnic area and a recreational area for young families and elderly people to enjoy. |
| 285. | Keyworth Village Hall has lacked investment compared to Kinoulton or Radcliffe. Local performing groups have to travel to use such a facility. Used to use KLC more frequently but twice weekly swimming has forced us to use Cotgrave where lessons are once a week and children attain same standard as peers. Loss of fitness room and crèche a blow - short sighted and feels that provision will be withdrawn. |
| 286. | Under 11's play area could be improved, new equipment etc. |
| 287. | Under 11's play area is a disgrace, particularly when compared to what's available in West Bridgford. |
| 288. | Village Hall could be improved acoustically, and a decent piano provided. |
| 289. | More and better choice of vocational and leisure interest evening classes would be good. |
| 290. | I'm grateful to Keyworth Utd FC for the years of pleasure that it gave my sons. Thanks to all volunteers who put in so much time and effort. |
| 291. | Need more adult WEA evening classes perhaps using Village Hall or the school. Desperately need open spaces around Keyworth to relax in, like Ruddington or parks in West Bridgford. |
| 292. | It would be nice to be able to take small children on a picnic in the village with nice surroundings. |
| 293. | We feel there are sufficient leisure facilities and organised activities in Keyworth. One only has to make use of them and join groups, clubs and social events. |
| 294. | Many clubs available if one wishes to join. Bowls club especially for the more elderly. |
| 295. | We only have 1 play area in village on Keyworth school grounds that is always full of youths so not suitable for little children. |
| 296. | Playground for under 11's is a disgrace, all other villages have much better facilities. Village Hall should have a proper stage/ theatre. Local groups currently take their business to Radcliffe as Keyworth is inadequate. |
| 297. | Provision of Community garden (for example. on Rectory field, Parochial Hall land, corner of Lings Lane and Wysall Lane). |
| 298. | I would like more information on activities and facilities for under 11's. We have a young daughter and only know about swimming lessons. Would love her to do horse riding and dancing. Where do we find this sort of info' from? Also organisations and events would be useful. Any info? |
| 299. | Children’s play area has v poor choice of equipment. A place the size of Keyworth needs 1 large play area (like at Ruddington) or 2-3 smaller areas around the village with NEW and imaginative equipment (Greythorn Drive is a good example) |
| 300. | Should have public toilets in Keyworth |
| 301. | I have heard that leisure centre is to be closed down I would not like to see this happen |
| 302. | It’s about time the covenant on the playing field was removed, the village MUST move with the times. |
| 303. | No play amenities for 5-9 years |
| 304. | Library book stock should be changed more frequently |
| 305. | There are no outdoor playground facilities for under 11's. This would be a massive benefit to Keyworth. The new outdoor playground at Tollerton is fantastic and Keyworth could definitely use a similar facility especially as it is a lot bigger. |
| 306. | Only 1 playground in village this size is appalling. We ought to be encouraging children to play outside in fresh air rather than stuck in glued to their computer games. Child obesity is at its highest level, we should be doing something to encourage a healthier lifestyle. The park at present is very limited, OK if you live on that side of village, what about those of us who live near Nicker Hill, Willowbrook and Stanton. Even when original play park was up and running it was only accessible again by the top end of Keyworth. |
| 307. | Play areas for under 11's are, for a village of this size almost none existent. Main park (behind bowls club) is closed, so nearest to us is 3/4mile walk and it has very basic equipment in the eyes and mind of our 4yr old. Along walk for little reward! |
| 308. | Open space for relaxing dogged by poo again. |
| 309. | I think it would be nice if there were more walking areas created in Keyworth, and another area for children to play and one for youngsters. Even a small area of Greenbelt could be used for that, after all it would be green! I'd like to see traffic calming measures introduced on Selby Lane too. Old people live there and there is a playschool, and needs to be made safe for both categories. |
| 310. | I have joined a private Gym and fitness club in Keyworth, which I find meets my needs. |
| 311. | I did not know there was a dance in the village hall each Friday evening for about a year after I moved here. They are not allowed in the list of events - yet other similar things are for example fitness with swing. The village hall has large heaters, which reduce the size of the hall and are uncontrollable. There should be a controllable heating /cooling system. As it is unbearably hot at times for dancing. There should be an air conditioning system. |
| 312. | Leisure Centre is essential if only to enable young people to participate and enable them to improve their lives |
| 313. | I would like to be able to visit some type of club with my husband where we start doing some type of exercise. A gym or toning tables are out as we are not able to do that type of exercise. Also meetings about eating healthily over 55years with recipes etc Speakers from for example QMC, doctor’s gradual exercise. |
| 314. | Any group involved with children (of all ages and abilities) can use the services provided by Rushcliffe Play Forum based in the Bungalow at Keyworth Primary School on Nottingham Road |
| 315. | Longer opening hours for the library needed. The 'Park' on Nottingham Road is aimed at pre-schoolers - It is not good for any children 6+. We go to West Bridgford/Ruddington |
| 316. | I would be keen to use the leisure centre if there were specific ladies only sessions. |
| 317. | The under 11s play area on Nottingham Road is totally inadequate and in a dangerous place i.e. near a busy main road |
| 318. | Keyworth Leisure Centre must be kept open, this facility is used by many people in the village |
| 319. | The play park buy the school has nothing to offer children over the age of 5 except for 2 swings. What happened to the big slide from the closed down park? Also there used to be lots of grass there to run around on and kick a ball. Please, please, please can we have some equipment for the older ones 5+. We can't keep going to Ruddington! I now go to Rushcliffe Arena. We used to use the inflatable fun sessions for swimming but the big inflatable dominated the larger pool making play very restricted. Q lot of older children were badly supervised so that the little ones were shoved about. The changing rooms were taken over by rowdy boys switching lights on and off and screaming about much to my little girl's distress. I ended up having to shout at a group of boys and there wasn't a manager in sight! We now use the pool in Cotgrave! |
| 320. | As a family we use the Leisure Centre 4 times a week and feel it would be catastrophe to lose this facility |
| 321. | The play area for small children is inadequate - they need a bigger area and more equipment. More outdoor games should be encouraged |
| 322. | Must admit that the leisure facilities that I use are outside Keyworth for example Golf |
| 323. | Adult/female only sessions in the pool |
| 324. | Indoor/outdoor area for Boccia |
| 325. | Under elevens play areas are not sufficient. Only one, very small play area with limited equipment for the children to play on. Also the gate is often locked which is rather frustrating. |
| 326. | Should be more open/park space in and around Keyworth, as Cotgrave park, Ruddington and easier access to paths in countryside. |
| 327. | Illegible |
| 328. | Tennis courts are excellent, however experience suggests some children are favoured over others at the tennis club causing apathy by those members and resulting in low teenage member numbers |
| 329. | As I understand there is NO adult education that is commonly known or regularly publicised, since WEA courses were abandoned |
| 330. | Playing fields on Nottingham Road are part and subject to the lease of K.P.F.A. (registered charity) and which I believe is still current. Over many years the KPFA has tried without success to get the clause about ban on Sunday sport lifted, the various objections are documented |
| 331. | Library staff are excellent. The facility is way outdated and choice of books is extremely limited. There is an open space, BUT the youngsters cannot use playing fields for schools, so they are wasted spaces out of hours. |
| 332. | Many adult education activities start too early for working families, appear to be for retired people only. |
| 333. | Children should have a decent park with swings, roundabout, slide, picnic area, etc a good-sized park! |
| 334. | We have joined the friends of KLC in order to help keep the facility open |
| 335. | It is in wrong position, it does not have any outdoor facilities of its own |
| 336. | Organised walks in surrounding countryside are appreciated, an occasional seat/ bench on public footpath is desirable. |
| 337. | Library is excellent and has friendly staff, however I would prefer children to be placed away from the library section as on occasion it is more of a crèche than a place to choose a book. The computer section to be also isolated. Keyworth News and diary is excellent for information, I am very active and use Village Hall twice a week for fitness with swing and walk with Keyworth footpaths assoc. |
| 338. | A greater variety of classes both leisure and educational during the daytime for adults. A new Library is needed with more space for books and computers |
| 339. | Too little too late, in as much as swimming pool really is too small for size of village, means users favour Cotgrave/ West Bridgford |
| 340. | Leisure centre must not be closed, it is the most integral part of village |
| 341. | Library should retain daily newspapers for up to a week so that references could be made to old newspapers |
| 342. | Organised games exclude everyone else, for example. Cricket, passers-by may be hit by a ball. Sunday is the only day when the whole village has access to the field Only Nature Reserve and Platt Lane available as open spaces, in themselves are satisfactory but should be more. Keyworth Diary does an excellent job |
| 343. | 1. Unlike Cotgrave and Ruddington we have no country park area. We have to use our car to use both these facilities. We need a large area of land to be set aside for a recreation area around Keyworth. This would be suitable for walkers wheelchair users, etc and include a larger children’s play area. " An extension to existing bridleway route to Widmerpool could be considered |
| 344. | Keyworth Leisure Centre is a great asset to the Village and I enjoy using the facilities and the staff are extremely helpful whenever I have had occasion to need help. |
| 345. | A larger and improved play area for younger children would be a good idea and also an area for older children. Perhaps part of the playing field could be used as it is more accessible for parking and can be seen from the road |
| 346. | Keyworth has some good facilities but they are not very accessible to non-club members. A structure which allowed for more informal, ad hoc use of facilities would encourage more people to try more activities |
| 347. | Please keep out well used and loved leisure centre open |
| 348. | There are no public fields with football goalposts up for children to use. |
| 349. | Keyworth is lacking an Arts facility for example. Small theatre or hall suitable for concerts with a decent stage and acoustics. Grange Hall at Radcliffe is a good example, we could also do with a village museum |
| 350. | I have no objection to organised games on the playing fields on Sundays. However the issue should be decided by the Parish Council in the interests of the community, not by the Church in the interests of Sunday Observance. |
| 351. | The village possesses great opportunities for people to pursue leisure activities. Maybe Keyworth News should encourage wider participation from all the organisations within the village to make residents aware of what is available. |
| 352. | We MUST keep KLC open in the interests of health (especially of the retired population, and of youngsters who need to get in the habit of regular physical activity - many of those in-between have probably lost the battle already!), the wider local environment (we will NOT travel by car to anywhere else, as this would counteract the desirable effects of local facilities within walking-range - useful buses are not really an option for us to get to Rushcliffe or elsewhere, as we need exercise that can be fitted into a busy retirement!). As you can tell, we are strongly behind the activities of the Friends of KLC, who basically push for a genuinely sustainable Keyworth community. |
| 353. | Clearly the Leisure Centre is important for Keyworth people, besides being an employer and user of services. |
| 354. | Most people are mobile with their own transport and don't necessarily look to have all their leisure needs provided from within Keyworth. |
| 355. | We need a larger playground for under 11's.The present one doesn't have enough equipment or space |
| 356. | Without local football and cricket clubs and the like, sport would be badly served in this community |
| 357. | The 10 yearly Keyworth Guide has contact details for all the organisations, but of course, many contacts change over 10 years. Could it be available on the Internet and updated annually? I think there is a good variety of leisure available in Keyworth. The swimming pool is a little small, for lane swimming it is crowded with about 8 people in it, which is a minute percentage of the population of the village! |
| 358. | The excellent Keyworth Guide issued every 10 years, and, certainly when we moved in, delivered to newcomers, could perhaps be available on the Internet, and updated annually, to reflect changes in contact details for organisations. |
| 359. | There is a lack of provision for the under 11's- guided and unguided. Play facilities and activities to engage those who cannot afford the piano lesson/horse riding circuit are also thin on the ground. |
| 360. | The playground for children is not good it offers hardly anything for a child over 2 and is muddy underfoot and is quite often locked when you arrive. For a village the size of Keyworth I feel we could do better look at East Leake, Ruddington. |
| 361. | The only open space in the village centre is unusable for organised games on a Sunday. That's a pity. |
| 362. | This survey is the first time I have been asked to take part in anything to do with the village. Maybe this kind of thing should happen more often. I know the parish council meets, but I don't know where or when, nor have I seen any minutes or outcome of any meetings. If you want people to be involved in the community, then you have to share information with them, encourage them to take part and listen to them. A village website where meeting minutes could be displayed would be a start. |
| 363. | The playing fields should be flattened to make a safer playing surface and an area should be used for playgrounds, one for children and one for young people |
| 364. | In the Leisure CentreI think there should be a "put on and off blue shoe dispenser"(overshoes). Because old people cant bend down and reach to their feet easily, so you put your feet in (one at a time) and it will put them on easier for elderly and people who cant bend down that well (like my dad!) |
