Comments on Transport

All additional comments made by Keyworth residents on transport are listed below.

Below are all responses to question number 36, which asked residents to: "Please use this space to elaborate on your answers within this section or to express any opinions about transport in and around Keyworth."

   Comment Text
 1.

No speed bumps please. Roads, pavements and verges are a disgrace. Stop inconsiderate parking and you will solve most pedestrian/traffic problems. Someone should persuade South Wolds School to build a car park. Maybe they could build a car park on their current playing field, then use the field near the Village Hall ...if it were flattened.

 2.

Parking free for 1st hour. Roads and footpaths in bad condition. Bus service rotating route round village so elderly can get to village and back again with shopping, now some people can only go one way.

 3.

I agree with a charge if it is an issue if people are parking in Keyworth and then going to Nottingham. However it will penalise the staff in the shops if they have to drive to their workplace in the village, if there are car park charges then people would park on the streets. Resident zones are a good idea but with many households having more than 1 car it may be a problem. I can't think where it would apply in the village?

 4.

Q29 Zebra crossings Q34 Same as West Bridgford. Many people use their cars for school runs and through laziness. Parking fees and restrictions would let the people who really needed the spaces use them, i.e. Disability or permit holders.

 5.

Speed ramps- NEVER I am against car park charges, there are too many restrictions in other areas.

 6.

Transport system to the city is very good, however public transport to the surrounding villages is much more difficult.

 7.

On street parking is a growing problem, as many people do not use their driveways. Also top of Brookview Drive and Nottingham Road used as over-spill car parks during the day.

 8.

Camera esp. needed on Stanton Lane.

 9.

Ramps, etc within the village would ruin the village and cause more problems esp. to your car. 1st hr free then 10p for every 30mins after. Resident’s only parking would be wonderful.

 10.

Ramps penalise the law abiding, this is unacceptable. Frequent speed limit markings on the road surface. Appears to be little regard for the disabled, poor access, poor paths, inconsiderate parking, blocking dropped kerbs, parking on pavements and too narrow pavements. Resident only zones should be introduced on Elm Avenue/Elm close as these get used as an overflow car park for the village hall and will also be used when "Wrights Folly" is completed, as the parking for this is totally inadequate. Inconsiderate parking here makes it difficult for residents to get in and out of their properties.

 11.

Q29 Frequent speed limit markings on the road surface.

 12.

2hr parking would solve most of the problems particularly on Church Dr and the Parade shops. Some people park there and catch the bus to work. I am very angry when I have to carry heavy bags of shopping half way down Wolds Dr. It would also solve the school parking. It would only work if a regular check by a traffic warden, a few fines would solve the problem. Some residents (Church Dr) could have parking stickers for visitors on Mon-Fri, Rushcliffe BC could issue these, it works well in Camden.

 13.

Parking on Main Street Church Drive and Nottingham Road.

 14.

Most people have driveways, if they were used there would be no need for residents only parking. Another major problem is parking on double yellow lines, what’s the point of these if the law is not enforced?

 15.

It must be difficult to use pram/wheelchair with so many cars parked on pavements. The only time one can use Budgens car park is after school hrs or holidays!

 16.

Used to be able to get round village in both directions, now bus is one-way route so I have to use car to carry shopping back home. If parking charges I would not use local shops I'd go to large supermarket. I disagree strongly with any charges. A park and ride on the outer side of village would be answer to all day parkers.

 17.

Nottingham Road suffers from dangerous drivers due to speeding

 18.

I have contacted the local authority to complain about the problem with dustbins on several occasions, but the problem still persists. The bin men are abusive if asked to return the bins to the driveway.

 19.

Cars parked over pavements obstruct access for pushchairs and disabled people.

 20.

Q29 enforcement of rules relating to parking on double yellow lines. Parking for more than 5 hrs in a public car park should be discouraged.

 21.

Would be useful to have buses from Keyworth to Loughborough

 22.

Q29 change junctions to mini roundabouts. The open space behind Storeys should be acquired for public parking.

 23.

Buses to Melton, Oakham, Loughborough and Leicester are poor. Perhaps Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire could have a more joined up bus policy.

 24.

Would like to see more enforcement of yellow lines etc, because of the small number of selfish drivers who do not park correctly especially in the Square.

 25.

It would be stupid to have traffic wardens upsetting shoppers using local businesses. There is no justification for them.

 26.

Public transport system has improved over last few years and I use it. Good public transport is essential. Parking problems are caused by the culture of not parking on driveways and filling the garage with "stuff". This is a selfish habit. People want to park immediately outside the facility (for example shop) they want to use. Both must stop if necessary through fines. In places it is getting dangerous.

 27.

Keyworth Connection bus is excellent. The only improvement would be to provide more frequent evening services and a bus lane through Tollerton and around Wheatcrofts Island.

 28.

Q29 NO speed ramps

 29.

Pave over some closes to make them primarily pedestrian precincts with cars only for access at 10mph max.

 30.

I am unable to use public transport

 31.

A great deal of problems are caused by cars parked all day in the neighbourhood of the school, parking should be limited to 2hrs on Church Dr and around the neighbouring roads.

 32.

Keyworth has very good bus service. What about coming to an arrangement with the owner of the old British Legion to use their car park for shoppers during the day, if it is to become a restaurant in the evenings.

 33.

A fair proportion of daily commuters to Nottingham use Bunny Lane parking facility, which leaves reduced number of places for village people to shop/services in Keyworth. 2hr limit should be introduced.

 34.

Q 27 Keyworth community bus very useful.

 35.

Already car share

 36.

Q29 enforced 30mph limit through village and on Bunny Lane. Fast driving along Bunny Lane between Nottingham Road and Manor Road. Where I live at Woodleigh, homeowners are aged 70-mid 90's and we have difficulty crossing Bunny Lane because of fast moving traffic.

 37.

I walk around Keyworth but for those who have to use the bus it's ridiculous that the bus only goes one way round the village, the elderly need more help with public transport around the village. If you start parking charges people will just park on the road instead, making the matter far worse. Look at the problems on Bunny Lane when the main car park was closed. People wouldn't use the village hall car park but just dumped their cars on the road instead. The school needs to have its own car park on Church Dr it must be awful for the residents, however if you made residents parking only, people would just put their cars on adjacent roads transferring the problem

 38.

The speed limit is NOT respected and more should be done against that. The same applies to parking on double yellow lines opposite the chemist, in Main Street by the estate agents, etc!

 39.

Public transport to Nottingham has improved and is now good. The service linking to QMC (via Rudd) is now so infrequent and not at times to suit employees or hospital visitors.

 40.

Would like to have no parking on Bunny Lane, it's very difficult to get out of drive from No 11 with the car park there.

 41.

Charges in car park would only increase on street parking which village doesn't need.

 42.

Q29 traffic wardens

 43.

Pavements need resurfacing. Traffic lights needed entering Bunny Lane to stop speeding and to help elderly to cross road, an accident waiting to happen here.

 44.

Bunny Lane traffic is often very busy, but worst of all is the speed. Many cars go way above 30mph past my house. We desperately need a speed restriction flashing sign and/or speed ramps before someone gets killed. IT'S THAT BAD. People should be discouraged to park at Bunny Lane car park all day (which they do) as it restricts shoppers, this could mean charging.

 45.

PLEASE, PLEASE, can we have permanent speed cameras or speed bumps on Bunny Lane? Cars constantly speed well over 30mph as they come along the road going in and out of the village and it has already caused accidents and killed family pets. It is becoming more and more dangerous to simply get in and out of your car for those of us who live along this road.

 46.

Please can we have speed control measures on Bunny Lane where it changes from 60mph to 30mph as NO-ONE slows down and I have had cats run over and so have neighbours, as well as nearly being "wing mirrored" a couple of times when getting out of my car!

 47.

Parking zones are not needed as most people have driveways. Should be encouragement for cars only, i.e. not trailers or lorries to park on their driveways.

 48.

The Bunny Lane car park is fantastic. The buses to and from Nottingham are WONDERFUL. I am so impressed that there are late night buses. Prices have increased recently but still much cheaper than a taxi. Living on Bunny Lane our main daily concern is about traffic speed. Speed bumps, bollards or cameras would make a dramatic impact on the quality of our lives. A bus to the University of Nottingham or a car-sharing scheme would be very good. The QMC bus is too infrequent, stops too early and does not go near enough to the University Park.

 49.

Many roads and footpaths are a disgrace! Particularly Wolds Driveand the pavement along Main Street between Brookview Dr and Wysall Lane.

 50.

Resident’s only parking would cause difficulties when having visitors, I have found this in other towns/villages. When I first came to Keyworth I could travel from Loughborough and Beeston directly by bus and also these services helped to visit other villages. Now you have to take 2 buses and travel into Nottingham to do it.

 51.

The Trent Barton services to and from Nottingham are excellent. Opportunities to walk and cycle should be encouraged to neighbouring villages and cycle links to Nottingham. Traffic speeding, particularly on Wolds Driveand Fairway, cars (and buses on occasions) regularly exceed 30mph on these roads, given the residential nature speed limits of 20 or 30mph max must be enforced here. Ramps should be a last resort but some form of traffic calming should be explored with signage.

 52.

Buses only go in one direction around Keyworth now, its unsatisfactory for people who want to go to and from shops.

 53.

The speed limit on Selby Lane is rarely kept to 30mph (including the buses)

 54.

I find it almost impossible to park round Budgens and usually end up parking in pub car park for a short time while I shop. There are too many people parking in this area and leaving their cars all day and it needs dealing with. The school could easily have parking on their land freeing the car park for genuine shoppers. Church Dr and Main ST cause problem with cars parked all day in some instances. The biggest problem, teachers and students. Maybe yellow lines to stop parking near Budgens on the corner of Church Dr, as it's very bad. Maybe charging in Health centre car park.

 55.

Private companies have scarred most pavements. They should have been made to put them back how they were found. The same can be said of the roads. Keep Keyworth friendly! No charges or restrictions on parking.

 56.

Pavements are shocking to use a mobility scooter, also too narrow particularly end of Selby Lane.

 57.

Church Dr parking is ridiculous, making it a single lane road at most times. Bus to Nottingham fantastic, if slightly expensive. Cycle tracks joining Keyworth to other villages would be great. Car parking is plentiful.

 58.

Resident zones are a good idea in the congested areas. Extra parking for the Parade shops could be the Tavern car park?

 59.

The pavements are terrible, my husband has nearly been tipped off his scooter on a number of occasions.

 60.

Car park charges would be a good idea as long as workers/business owners were exempt from payment. To avoid congestion from school parking on Church Dr could there not be a gate at the school field by the bowls club. Then the school traffic could park in the often empty village hall "roundabout " car park with easy access to school grounds.

 61.

Local people should be encouraged to walk rather than use car (or use bus if possible). All schools are within walking distance, that's the beauty of the scale of Keyworth and healthier too.

 62.

Speeding is a serious problem between Keyworth and Plumtree. There is an accident waiting to happen at the end of Poplars Close and areas around as cars frequently accelerate crazily on leaving Keyworth. We need electronic warning signs to address this.

 63.

Speed ramps are bad for people with back problems. "narrows" might be better at village entrances to slow people down. If car park charges, congestion on neighbouring streets will become worse, already occasional problems on Bunny Lane when car park is full.

 64.

No ramps on roads, these render roads unusable by the disabled or road users with back problems. Permanent speed cameras on Bunny Lane and Selby Lane. Free parking is essential for the shopkeeper’s livelihoods. Resident’s only zones are not needed in this small town with no train station.

 65.

satisfactory

 66.

Q27 motorcycle. Q29 Police camera checks. I know people have to park and catch a bus from Keyworth, but I think that there would be enough parking for shoppers, where as all day parkers make a lot of difference. Why not a special parking or special parking bays for them. Also Fairway people put their cars on their drives.

 67.

Transport from Keyworth to Nottingham excellent. Please don't let Keyworth become suburbia!

 68.

Public transports far too expensive

 69.

I have twice requested from the Police information about the community speed cameras and have never received anything. Something needs to be done about the inconsiderate parking and speeding in our village.

 70.

All main roads have parked cars, vans etc with empty driveways.

 71.

Please no speed ramps!

 72.

NOT speed bumps, these are difficult for cyclists and just result in cars swerving about in the road. Introducing residents parking removes the look and feel of a village. Parking is not a problem except for the lazy people who park on the yellow lines outside Nat West bank.

 73.

It would be useful if the buses ran both ways round the village

 74.

Bus service to and from Nottingham is exemplary.

 75.

It is disgraceful that people in the surrounding villages who park their cars there all day and catch the bus to go to work use our car parks. They clog up the car parks for shoppers, so obviously the shops are hit.

 76.

Bunny Lane approach to Keyworth could have speed hump and electronic sign (like Cotgrave)

 77.

Buses in Keyworth not convenient in some areas i.e. can get to village but not back, the 2 way system was better. Would certainly object to car park charges in Keyworth. To encourage people not to take cars into town, they should be able to leave them in the car park and catch the bus without charging for parking, as some people are a long way from a bus stop.

 78.

Parking problems at Budgens are a real problem during term times. People ignore double yellow lines on the corner near chip shop at Debdale

 79.

Pavements in Keyworth have been a disgrace for years I don't think pavements on the Brookview drive estate have been resurfaced since the estate was built in the 1970's. This needs URGENT attention with complete resurfacing not (underlined) ad-hoc repairs.

 80.

Q31 completed with a "?" Q32 Weekly prefixed with ">" parking offences (for example on double yellow lines at the square) are never penalised so people carry on committing them! Not sure what can be done about schools parking where there are schools, there will be school traffic

 81.

Q33 - comment - few minutes Once again - what do you mean by "buses within Keyworth"? The only point within Keyworth which is accessible by bus in both directions is the bottom of Nicker Hill and New corner. Otherwise it is necessary to walk to shops on Wolds Drive or the Square and then get a bus back. This is not satisfactory. Bus services used to alternate, but Bartons seem to strenuously opposed to this. How people without a car manage with heavy shopping I do not know, yet residents are urged to use the buses rather than the car. Clearly many shoppers who cannot walk to the shops wait until they can get "a lift", usually to ASDA or Morrisons, thus bypassing the local shops. Does anyone listen to local shop owners?

 82.

Something needs to be done to address problem of all day parking in Church Dr, residents parking only.

 83.

Is it the intention of the council to introduce parking fees so that they can again get more monies out of the motorist?

 84.

Could use not be made of the now mainly disused railway track from Keyworth/Plumtree to Nottingham?

 85.

The all day parking of cars at Budgens and on Church Dr is becoming a real problem. It’s difficult to drive up and down Church Dr without having to back up or drive partly on the pavement to let other cars through. Cars are also now causing problems at the top of Walton Dr.

 86.

Car parking in Keyworth is more than adequate, its a shame more car owners do not use it!

 87.

Speed ramps in Bunny Lane and Main Street, approaching village and in Selby Lane approaching junctions would be helpful. A direct bus service to Loughborough would be useful.

 88.

Would like a regular bus route to Ruddington/ Wilford to be able to apply and get a job in that area.

 89.

Car park at rear of Budgens is never available when South Wolds school is open.

 90.

Find it difficult to park for shopping in the Square and the Parade. Parade esp. bad at school times. Car park at the pub (Tavern) has very few cars during shopping hrs, couldn't the parish buy/rent part of it from the brewery to provide more spaces for shoppers. Charges could be 1st hr free, 50p for 2hrs, and £10 over 2hrs. Many pavements are still poor although some have been resurfaced recently.

 91.

Measures need to be put in place to ease congestion at peak times leaving the village. Notably access to Melton Road and Loughborough Road. Introduce traffic lights to allow residents to leave/return to Keyworth to eradicate long queues.

 92.

Pay and display on Bunny Lane similar to West Bridgford. All day free at Village Hall. Do you know Buzz advertise FREE parking!

 93.

I have to collect large heavy medical supplies for my son from the chemist. Weekly visits for prescription collection plus visiting the chemist, I would be disadvantaged if parking charges were introduced.

 94.

Cars speeding on Selby Lane and Nottingham Road. Fairway pavements badly need resurfacing.

 95.

No buses to Rushcliffe country park, Bunny or Gotham

 96.

Police should enforce speed limits, throughout Keyworth speeds in excess of 60mph on the Fairway. Cannot find a parking space on the new car park when visiting Drs after 9.30 am! No means of getting back from the village with heavy shopping for the elderly and disabled.

 97.

Community bus is excellent idea. Pavements can be very dangerous even after they have been resurfaced.

 98.

People don't use available car parking already, double yellow lines deemed OK! If a charge were introduced there would be no hope for all of us on foot.

 99.

More understanding please re parking, in the Square not on double yellow lines, esp. outside the bank. Perhaps Nat West could be penalised if their customers are causing obstructions.

 100.

Pavement on Brockwood Cres is a disgrace, it has never been resurfaced from the original installation, 30years! Residents parking ONLY when the property has no parking facility, otherwise off street parking should be mandatory, with no excuses, i.e. more than one car.

 101.

The footpaths on Crossdale Dr and Brockwood Cres are uneven and hazardous. A parking disc in each car would not require a machine or staff to empty them. A parking superintendent could deal with several car parks (for example Ruddington and Keyworth) Use Village Hall car park for all day parking and 2hrs max at Budgens and Bunny Lane.

 102.

Public transport to Nottingham is very good but the surrounding villages are difficult to get to.

 103.

Pavements in Keyworth are a disgrace, it takes years to get anything done and then it's just a patch up job, which looks dreadful and is dangerous.

 104.

Q33 Village Hall car park for playing bowls, over 2hrs. Bunny Lane car park under 2hrs for doctors appointments.

 105.

Q29 current speed limits are satisfactory but so often ignored by many drivers. Too many parents on the school run have no consideration for local residents (near schools).

 106.

Think cycle paths would be hard to develop. Need speed restrictions around the village, electronic signs at Plumtree, Normanton Lane, Nicker hill and Bunny lane entrances. Crossdale school should be restricted to 20mph at school times. Car parks should be free up to 2hrs then charges after that to catch people who park all day and go to town from outside the area.

 107.

Over the period of a recent month, my survey of parking in Keyworth found the Village Hall car park very rarely more than half full. (Details available if required)

 108.

Would very much welcome a small bus or similar to run once a day within Keyworth up to the village centre to get to the Health centre, dentists etc, I have to rely on a lift to the shops once a week.

 109.

Parking in the village is inadequate, any scheme for making it more difficult to use i.e.. Charges, will worsen the situation.

 110.

Car parks free for 1st hr

 111.

Q29 education for parents dropping off kids, they are the worst offenders! Speeding/general poor driving and lack of consideration for residents around schools. Q33 It needs to be p [oliced to stop all day parkers or those who park and then get the bus into town. I have had already had an issue not being able to park.

 112.

Not enough parking spaces for disabled as the 2 at the Health centre can only be used during opening hours.

 113.

Could do with a bus to QMC and City hospitals direct from Keyworth 7 days a week.

 114.

For parking over 2 hrs in car park people should pay.

 115.

Narrow roads around and out of village mean leisure cycling is slightly dangerous. Need for cycle paths linking with other cycle routes

 116.

Parking laws need to be enforced in square - the 'threat' given by police on notices NEEDS to be carried out to get people to park appropriately. I am sure lots of residents would volunteer to help with this to make it a safer place - at the moment people do not seem to care as know can get away with it. Lots of very lazy parking! Expectations need to change! Similarly with car park !Some days are very busy people parking all day. If set 2 hour limit AND monitored this occasionally people would be lot more mindful if limit

 117.

Apart from Church Drive where are residents parking zones necessary?

 118.

Brookview drive is at the mercy of businesses and shoppers and without residents only parking we will be applying for a reduction in our community charge for the devaluation of our properties

 119.

This policy would help residents who live near the schools and would also help with children’s safety.

 120.

There are no pedestrian crossings for elderly to cross anywhere in Keyworth

 121.

Church Dr car park always full of teacher’s cars in term time. Parking on Church Dr is very often done by idiots who park incorrectly

 122.

Q31 n/a Fortunately I am fit and able to walk to most of my destinations in Keyworth, though I do appreciate that parking is a problem in all the shopping areas. Also when there is a lot of activity in the village hall area the parking is insufficient. However I can offer no solutions to the problem.

 123.

Driving our car around Church Dr/Wolds Drivedue to parking near junctions, plus parking during school hours is VERY DANGEROUS, and buses using Church Dr.

 124.

Footpath along Willowbrook and Nicker Hill not wide enough to push a pushchair and walk with child, needs widening.

 125.

Maybe local businesses could be asked to encourage employees to park i.e. in the village hall car park on not say on Nottingham Road etc

 126.

Bus service is excellent, although a half hour rather than hourly service would be helpful after 6.40pm from Nottingham. Also extend late night buses to Thursday as well as Fri and Saturday as this seems to be the main student night.

 127.

I agree with kerbs being lowered for buggies, etc but motorists do not observe them particularly in the Square, what about marking the kerbs white or yellow? On Church Dr/Budgens corner, does the highway code not apply, i.e. cars park right down to the junction?

 128.

Parking on pavements is very bad, forcing pushchairs/wheelchairs onto the roads, very dangerous. Cars parking on yellow lines outside the cash machine in Square and Plumtree fish shop is also dangerous, there will be an accident!

 129.

Q33 Never / Rarely

 130.

Roads are absolutely appalling esp. Wolds Dr, Selby Lane. There are quite deep potholes and road surface is atrocious

 131.

Stop drivers parking in Keyworth all day whilst they work in Nottingham City Centre

 132.

Car parking on footpaths is a serious problem

 133.

Bus into Nottingham is too expensive, esp. for young people. Parking is starting to get difficult in car park near Buzz. Up to 3hrs free would be good as this is long enough for classes and would deter all day parkers.

 134.

Speed ramps on Church Dr, it’s a rat run.

 135.

Excellent bus service to Nottingham and also community shopper is excellent

 136.

Q34 limited parking with setting of disc for 2 hrs-free for this time, and then fine offenders

 137.

Q34 2 crossed out and 1 written in

 138.

Cars parked on pavements are a big nuisance for pedestrians and pushchairs/wheelchairs.

 139.

Buses to outlying villages poor. Q33 less than 30mins

 140.

Laws surrounding parking, obstruction by vehicles of other road users should be enforced

 141.

Road outside Keyworth primary school is too dangerous with fast cars, illegal parking, people ignoring speed signs. Why can't there be a 20mph-calming zone with ramps to slow people down at peak times.

 142.

From where we live we can get a bus downhill to the shops but not back uphill with heavy shopping.

 143.

Cars dominate Keyworth to the detriment of the quality of environment for all villagers. We must have serious traffic controls on Bunny Lane and why not have school zones outside each of the schools as they do in NSW. As so many houses have two cars or more - it can be impossible to walk a buggy down the pavement as cars park half on the road / half on the pavement.

 144.

1st 2 hrs free then all day fixed fee

 145.

Resident only parking - its awful after being at work all day to come home with heavy bags of shopping, only to find that some lazy inconsiderate people have parked outside your house.

 146.

Schools create a lot of traffic problems, so they should create more parking for staff and students and encourage parents to walk to school more. Street parking should be limited to 30mins in some areas

 147.

Bunny lane car park should be for short stays only, max 1 hour, which is long enough for a Dr/nurse appetent, visiting bank or Post Office. Longer parking should go to village hall car park.

 148.

Parking on pavements should be banned.

 149.

Speed ramps would be a preventative for speed around the estate after 10pm

 150.

Car parking is usually adequate. Public transport is good. School crossings would good idea

 151.

Parking should only be allowed in car parks and not on streets around shops. 1st 2 hrs free and then all day fixed fee.

 152.

Bunny Lane, Church Drive, Brookview Drive should all have residents parking zones. PC Thacker should then do the job she is paid to do. Fine people for illegal parking. She is not 'goody two shoes' friend to all. She's a policewoman to uphold the law

 153.

34 if car park charges are introduced then the on street parking will get worse and we know from experience the police are incapable of controlling the situation

 154.

We need to improve cycle routes. To Rushcliffe Country Park, Plumtree and Tollerton and Edwalton

 155.

I car park charges were introduced - 3hrs free parking would be needed for meetings at the Village Hall and Centenary Lounge. Parking on the Parade can be congested - could an arrangement be made for shoppers to use the pub car park?

 156.

 Congestion

 157.

There is a lack of parking in the Square area - cars stop on double yellow lines. Allowing parking on both sides of road in main street is not a good idea. Widen the roads allowing parking on one side. Many cards are partially parked on pavements, which are contrary to the highway code, but sensible due to traffic on roads.

 158.

Stop HGV coming into Keyworth

 159.

I agree with residents parking in some areas. Charge for car parking is good in Bunny Lane car park but not Village Hall as this might deter people from going to the clubs there.

 160.

One way bus route round Keyworth - no return bus

 161.

Parking in Keyworth is a joke

 162.

Would it be possible to use some school land for teachers and pupils parking? Also paint double yellow lines at the junction of Church Drive and Wolds Drive

 163.

Church drive should have residents parking

 164.

See question 40

 165.

Car parking on pavement especially Nottingham Road/ Normanton Lane cause problems for prams / wheelchairs etc.

 166.

Do not own a car

 167.

Question 29 - Comment at side of speed ramps - inverted potholes?

 168.

The Bunny Lane car park is always full. With not many people walking around Keyworth this would indicate outside villagers coming in to use the transport from Keyworth to Nottingham. I would put a charge on this park for over 2 hours stay

 169.

A nominal charge of under 50p for 2 hours and then a large (inhibitive) charge for longer as it appears that many cars are parked, especially on Bunny Lane, for longer than is fair to other users.

 170.

If you charge people to park in car parks you will encourage people to park in more quite residential areas. It’s free to use car parks at the moment and still people park in stupid places on double yellow lines because it is closer to the shops. I strongly disagree with paying to park in my village. Generate your income by fining people for stupid parking and leave the sensible people who use car parks alone. Fining poor parking will generate you a sufficient income.

 171.

More should be done to discourage taking children to school via car this makes all areas of the village a nightmare at these times. Due to the size of the village virtually all children could be taken on foot or bus.

 172.

On several occasions I haven't been able to park in the Bunny Lane Car Park. I think a 2 hour max stay here between 9 and 6 would be useful. Entry into this Car Park is not clear.

 173.

The 'up to 2 hours free' and then hourly charges should be tried on the Bunny Lane car park - not the Village Hall one. The parking area in front of the shops on the Parade (Wolds Drive) should have a 1 hour limit only.

 174.

I use a car no more

 175.

Question 35 - in places especially Church Drive

 176.

Residents should be able to park in their own areas

 177.

I will never use a bus service that only goes to Broadmarsh Centre. I only shop in Victoria Centre and the bus service provides no help for me with the amount of shopping I do.

 178.

Public car parks should be free to encourage shopping from the surrounding villages to their shopping here. Look at Beeston (free parking) but in Bridgford we would not pay for parking the car we would rather go to Nottingham we I have a free parking space.

 179.

Question 32 - Bunny Lance occasionally Church Drive - rear of Budgens very occasionally Village Hall frequently Question 33 usually no longer than 1 hour. Question 34 - other also ticked

 180.

Q29 definitely NO speed ramps

 181.

Buses into and from the city are hourly after 7pm, which I feel is poor

 182.

Access into garages off Rannock gdns into flats.

 183.

Q35 esp. on Church Dr

 184.

During term time it is bedlam, parents should be discouraged from driving their children to school, no excuses!

 185.

Noisy cars esp. at night.

 186.

1st 2 hrs free then all day fixed fee

 187.

Concerned about parking on Church Dr

 188.

Bus route only goes one way round the village

 189.

Car parking on Church Dr at rear of Budgens is not an option for Keyworth residents when South Wolds school is open, also intensifies parking on Church Dr/Walton Dr and Rannock gdns.

 190.

Q35 I agree but feel residents should use their own garages/driveways instead of parking (part) on pavements.

 191.

I would use public transport to Nottingham if bus terminated at Friar lane (as before) or outside Victoria centre, BroadMarsh is disgusting and I will not use it. Q35 there may be a need on the Manor Road estate but not in general.

 192.

Do not want any more yellow lines, they would cause congestion in other parts. Pay and display not a good idea, long term parking should be discouraged.

 193.

There should be at least speed restrictions on cars within the Square area and in the vicinity of Sainsburys/bus stop area.

 194.

Resident’s zones may be useful in some areas but only if adequate parking spaces are provided elsewhere, if not it would only move vehicles from one street to another and only serve to shift the problem around rather than solve it.

 195.

People living opposite schools should not be disadvantaged by pupils/teachers parking on road for a full day. The school should have an environmental policy limiting driving/parking of vehicles, or provide a car park. Businesses should also provide parking for staff off-street or use comm. bus or use public car parks.

 196.

Transport Keyworth to Nottingham is excellent but poor to other areas such as Loughborough.

 197.

Church Dr should be one way only, from entrance at Nottingham Road to exit at Wolds Dr, thus making sure traffic including emergency vehicles can always get through.

 198.

The Church Dr problem needs to be addressed, the school of course is the problem, in school holidays the traffic flow/parking is perfectly acceptable.

 199.

Q29 20mph limits. Yellow lines around Wolds Driveshops are needed.

 200.

People should make the effort to use their drives and garages instead of parking with 2 wheels on the footway.

 201.

Q35 major problem seems to be around South Wolds so just this area possibly needs residents parking zone

 202.

Car parking charges would be final nail in the coffin for local business

 203.

Parking fees should be free for 1-2 hours then large fee for all day parking

 204.

Parking restriction is not a necessary except Church Drive

 205.

If you charge for car parks then the parking on the roads will get worse

 206.

Q29. 30mph limit adhered to. 30mph road markings as other villages.

 207.

All day parking is becoming a problem, cars are parked on Elm Avenue when there is a public car park at village hall. More yellow lines required. Buses and larger vehicles often cannot get along Elm Avenue because of cars parked on both sides.

 208.

Bus links with city are good. A direct bus service to West Bridgford and Ruddington would be useful.

 209.

Would like a bus service that goes to Nottingham via Loughborough Road. Also suggest an alternative route and times around the village, for example every half hour instead of quarter hour as now (one way)

 210.

Because I have a drive and garage I pay extra rates, why should I then be inconvenienced by residents only parking. I pay my road tax just the same.

 211.

We need to encourage people to use the facilities, shops etc, parking charges would not help.

 212.

Don’t agree that motorists have the automatic right to park on the road outside their properties. After all the road is a public highway for the use of all residents.

 213.

People seem to increase speed after leaving Plumtree behind and enter Keyworth fast. Speed of traffic on going up the hill on Wolds Drivealso too fast for residential area. Fairway is particularly bad.

 214.

Q34. For the health centre car park only the 1st 2 hrs should be free, with a fairly stiff charge for longer term parking.

 215.

Q29 Speed limit should be reduced to 20mph in the village

 216.

Pavements are an absolute disgrace, you can still see the scars after the installation of cable TV years ago, and this is a real priority. Is the village hall car park sufficiently used? Can local employers do more to provide parking space? Keyworth Tavern's car park is vastly under-used, a pity some of the Church Dr parking couldn't be diverted there.

 217.

Where are the 20 and 30mph speed signs within Keyworth as a reminder? Where are the parking wardens to enforce rules? I find it more difficult to cross roads here than when we lived in London, it’s awful.

 218.

More regular buses to West Bridgford town centre and also to Clifton shops and bank.

 219.

Fee parking will damage local businesses and we need to keep the village alive. Perhaps ban all day parking from outside shops so workers park free in car parks but shoppers can always find a space.

 220.

Feel very sorry for residents of Church Dr having parked cars all day during term time outside their properties.

 221.

Q35 cannot imagine how this could be operated, but it's a good idea.

 222.

I was recently injured and confined to a wheelchair and was shocked at the poor state of pavements and access ramps, esp. around the village centre. The recent re-surfacing has NOT addressed this. Re parking- charges will only make things worse and would be difficult to enforce. Health centre development has made the situation worse because parking is now further from the Square. If police speed checks are safety based why are they aimed at people leaving Keyworth and Plumtree, why are they never in the villages themselves?

 223.

Pavement outside my house has very recently been "repaired" with a tarmac-style substance, the weeds were once more growing through this within 2 weeks!

 224.

Pavements are very irregular, walking in the evening is uncomfortable and in winter it's dangerous.

 225.

Q29 Absolutely NO speed ramps or cameras.

 226.

Need a cycle path to Bunny and Bradmore for the safety of all! You can never use the car park outside Budgens in school hours. People who use them as park and ride should pay accordingly. Where do you propose to put residents parking zones, as it should be a rule for all.

 227.

Not enough parking spaces, this needs to be improved.

 228.

Residents parking is very important for me. There are only 4 houses and none have got cars except me but most of the time there is no parking space for me.

 229.

Residents parking would discourage visitors and outside trade.

 230.

People parking outside NatWest on double yellow lines is a pain in the neck for people crossing the road and also for other drivers, why is this not enforced?

 231.

Price of public transport is very expensive. For a family of 4 to go into town it would cost approx £11.40, where's the incentive not to use the car? Also a bus route going through to Ruddington would be good, i.e. for all the businesses at Ruddington Park.

 232.

People park all day and go to Nottingham, they should pay a parking fee because people who live here sometimes have nowhere to park.

 233.

It’s too fast and motorists rarely slow down or stop to allow pedestrians to cross the road.

 234.

Q29 Policeman on duty at pub closing times to stop cars racing through the village. Since the closure of the car park behind the shops, people have become used to parking nearer the residential areas. Please encourage businesses to use the main parking areas and discourage them from parking outside peoples homes all day long. We are sick and tired of it.

 235.

Mini bus linking Wolds Drivewith the Square would reduce traffic around Square.

 236.

Some limitations on heavy vehicles and through traffic should be considered. Keyworth Connection is generally very good but a change from a quarter hourly to hourly service in evening is inconvenient.

 237.

If we have residents zones then we would need extra car parking elsewhere

 238.

20mph speed limit should be set in Keyworth. U-turns on Main Street should be banned. Keyworth needs a badged residents parking system if its not to turn into a "park and ride" for non-residents. Q34 first 2 hrs free, then all day fixed fee.

 239.

Traders should have permits then any other parking, 2 hrs free then charged to prevent people from other villages commuting by bus to Nottingham.

 240.

Cycle tracks would be too expensive for the benefits they would bring to Keyworth. Q 29 definitely no speed ramps!

 241.

Q29 count down bars.

 242.

Bus service is excellent.

 243.

Bus services to Nottingham are good but limited access to West Bridgford. Bus service round Keyworth is only one way, you cannot return with shopping bags

 244.

The state of the roads is disgraceful. Please put a speed trap on Nicker hill - people race down it

 245.

Chicanes would be a good idea to slow traffic

 246.

Public parking now the Bunny lane car park is in use in inadequate for the village

 247.

Parking zones are offensive for visitors to Keyworth properties and would lead to neighbour conflict! Very bad idea

 248.

Q35 - Wolds drive and church drive

 249.

I agree to residents only parking on Church Drive, a lot of cars parked there in the day belong to 6th form students at South Wolds. They walked when they were younger to the school why can't they now?

 250.

Car parks are being used by commuters to catch the bus into Nottingham. West Bridgford has solved the problem by charging for the 1st hour and then £12 for all day, why don't we follow something similar. More people are parking on pavements (isn't this an offence) Church Dr needs double yellow lines. Staff from school are filling up spaces behind Budgens and all along Church Dr.

 251.

Insufficient disabled parking spaces. South Wolds need its own car park, sometimes impossible to park at the library.

 252.

Parking over 2 hours should incur a charge.

 253.

Have the Keyworth connection bus run round the village the opposite way once in every 4 journeys.

 254.

Residents zones should apply where householders are having problems getting in and out of their drives, like Church Dr.

 255.

Bus route is one way around Keyworth so is not convenient for elderly to travel from home to shops and back again.

 256.

Church Dr/Fairway junction is fast becoming a potential hazard, due to parking for Budgens and school parking. Bus stop makes it even more dangerous. Couldn't a deal be done to use huge empty car park at the Tavern pub during daytime? What about more yellow lines and actual enforcement of parking regulations?

 257.

Members of bowls club do car sharing to away matches. Q32. But more than once a week, but not daily.

 258.

Could a once a week shoppers service be introduced to Loughborough maybe on Thurs or Sat (market days)

 259.

No bus by Bartons returning people from the village when shopping.

 260.

Keyworth connection bus only goes one way around the village and a return journey would be useful.

 261.

I can get into Keyworth on the bus from the Parade but I can't get back again on the bus, it being only a one-way service. Q33. I use up to 2 hrs in daytime and over 2 hrs in evening. Q35. Depends where the zones are.

 262.

First 2 hrs free then all day fixed fee.

 263.

Re parking outside South Wolds school, why not ask the owner of the Tavern pub if the school could use some of the spaces in its car park during school hours for a small fee.

 264.

Cars parking half on pavements make it difficult for prams and wheelchair users. Some of the car parks are used as a park and ride by some people from surrounding villages. Having up to 2 hrs free and then a charge may prevent this.

 265.

People are so lazy they expect to park outside each shop they want, if you did introduce charges people would ignore them, knowing full well no one would be around to enforce it as they do in the Square and again the police do naff all.

 266.

What is the point of double yellow lines if they are not enforced? People are too lazy to walk from a car park to shops, bank etc. If parking charges introduced problem will increase!

 267.

Bus service to Nottingham is excellent, but that’s about it. Car parking on Manor Road is appalling. School children who live locally should not be allowed to drive to school and park on Church Dr.

 268.

Keyworth connection is a good service. Junction at Nottingham Road/Rose Hill should be one-way in from Nottingham Road, due to danger caused by poor visibility from parked cars and the curve of the road up to the Square.

 269.

It will be a bad day for residents generally and for shopkeepers when parking charges are introduced because of the selfish attitude and moaning of the Church Dr Residents Association! Why don't they park their cars in their garages?

 270.

Car owners should not be able to park all day without payment. First 2 hrs free then £20.

 271.

Ignorant parking by people using Plumtree chip shop, police need to show some presence now and again. Resident zones are dependent on the residents of any affected areas.

 272.

Residents should not have priority to park on public roads. Used to cycle but modern motorists intimidate and cut you up.

 273.

More speed cameras/police patrols are needed. Boy racers frequently race around, I was nearly run over by one on the path by the Village Hall. I won't let my child play outside because of speeding cars. Stop parking on Church Dr and Main Street.

 274.

Inconsiderate parking makes life difficult for wheelchair users/buggies

 275.

Residents zones should be limited to the most congested places like Church Dr where parking is always a problem, A few spaces should be kept available for disabled visiting the library, school etc.

 276.

Congestion and parking issues need to be tackled by encouraging people to use their cars less often for short journeys, esp. school runs, dropping off children at Platt Lane and Leisure centre or just short shopping trips.

 277.

Too much speeding, need ramps on Nottingham Road, Church Dr, Wolds Dr. Get the railway going again. Sort out Church Dr/Wolds Dr, why are rich 6th formers driving to South Wolds when some live in Keyworth? Pressurise the school there are buses from all the villages.

 278.

A car sharing scheme would work for travelling outside Keyworth, an incentive would be allocated spaces for sharers only

 279.

Q29. No speed ramps please, my car is converted for my wheelchair and is VERY LOW to the ground so would easily be damaged. I think there should be greater publicity to inform people with disabilities about the bus services with buses that are wheelchair friendly. A lot of people don't have access to magazines (which I receive through Disability organisations), and they give lots of info about accessible buses and it’s a case of "Use it or Lose it".

 280.

Q35. Would make it difficult for visitors.

 281.

A cycle track linking Keyworth to both Nottingham and the canal cycle track at Cotgrave would be very beneficial, cycling anywhere from Keyworth is horrendous and dangerous.

 282.

Bus service back from the village to Fairway would be good.

 283.

Double yellow lines would be a good idea around many junctions, esp. near Budgens and it should be backed up with proper enforcement.

 284.

People who park on double yellow lines, why can't they park properly and just walk a little? Why isn't any action taken? Some residents have recently been asked to park "only just" on the pavement so that prams/wheelchairs can get past on the pavement. Fair enough. At some houses however the pavement is blocked by overgrown trees, shrubs and hedges, which also block the pavements for users. These houses should also be asked to cut back their trees etc, why should car owners get all the blame?

 285.

Keyworth Connection bus service very good daytime, would like more frequent evening buses, but must retain all services.

 286.

No need for residents zones as most houses have drives, people just need to be encouraged to use them. Pavements have been dug up so many times they are hazardous.

 287.

1st 2 hrs free would prevent travellers to Nottingham using the car parks all day, esp. when they park and then go to work on bus.

 288.

A bus route both ways around Keyworth would help, I can get to the Square to go shopping but coming home I would have to walk with all my shopping, so I use my car.

 289.

Bus service to Nottingham is excellent, however, occasional buses to other locations amount to no service at all. Times and pick up points to other locations are something of a mystery. Bus drivers have problems in Willowbrook/Fairway area during school drop off/pick up times due to crazy parking on corners and anywhere near school.

 290.

Parking on double yellow lines, esp. in the Square is a nuisance.

 291.

Fairway - cars go far too fast.

 292.

We are trying to encourage a greener society, but it doesn't seem to be reducing the amount of cars parked outside South Wolds school. The parking around the bottom of Church Dr will cause a serious accident one day, as you have to negotiate parked cars when approaching a bend in the road.

 293.

Only the 1st 30mins should be free, after that it should be 50p up to 1 hr, and £1 for up to 2 hrs, which should be the max. More roads should have double yellow lines, no parking at any times, why should people expect to park for free, nothing is free these days.

 294.

Pavements are for people not for parking cars and not for adults to ride bikes on. Inconsiderate parking makes walking with young children and buggies dangerous. I have witnessed several near misses of cars driving off pavements with no regard to pedestrians.

 295.

Transport to the City and QMC hospitals on a frequent time basis.

 296.

I would like to see parking regulations enforced.

 297.

Too many spaces in health centre car park are taken by all day parking, this should be in Village Hall car park. Thus making short term parking for the shops more easily available.

 298.

Q29. Signs on Nicker Hill. Q34. 1st 45mins free in some areas, 1st 15mins free behind Budgens. Most of parking problems are due to own residents in Keyworth.

 299.

Fab idea if had a cycle path link to Rushcliffe country park. Too many cars parked on paths make life difficult when pushing a double buggy. Resident zones OK for people if they don't have a drive.

 300.

We pay enough through our taxes to enable "freedom" to park.

 301.

The pavements generally in Keyworth are awful except in areas where councillors live, ie. Cherry Hill, Meadow Dr etc. The same applies to the roads, go to West Bridgford and you will see where the money is spent!

 302.

People should use public parking spaces more often, esp. at Budgens, there is no need to park on the road.

 303.

We've survived in Keyworth for 18 years without resident only zones! They only create problems we don't need!

 304.

Vast majority of pavements are in a really poor condition. A bus service for the elderly to go around the village.

 305.

Availability of public transport to surrounding areas/times/fares could be included in the Keyworth Magazine. Maybe a reverse direction of the Keyworth Connection at the same time each hour would help with shopping. No local outlet for petrol now. Maybe an agreement with local public houses could be made to enable those parking in the village ALL DAY to do so without using the current parking spaces.

 306.

Parking should be restricted on Church Dr in school term time. Perhaps the Tavern could be approached to enable part of their car park to be used in school hours.

 307.

Huge amount of illegal parking and it should be stopped.

 308.

Problems on Church Dr - 6th FORMERS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO USE THEIR CARS and PARK ON CHURCH DR.

 309.

School parking in car park rear of Budgens. South Wolds school should have its own car park, surely land at school could be found. This causes the most problems.

 310.

Speeding is a nuisance and nothing ever seems to get done about it. for example Nicker Hill regularly has cars doing 50-60mph and cars often speed on Mt Pleasant. People regularly park on double yellow lines and are rarely challenged.

 311.

No one gets a chance to park behind Budgens or outside the library as the South Wolds staff and pupils use ALL the spaces!

 312.

Q29 25mph in village. Cycle tracks - half metre dotted line on road is USELESS.

 313.

Excellent local bus service. I would encourage better promotion of bus direct to QMC or free park and ride bus to QMC from Queens Dr site.

 314.

Worst and most dangerous area is Church Dr, 1 lane of it is taken up by cars parked all day by staff and pupils of South Wolds and the car park behind Budgens is not available during the day either because they use all of that all day. The school has plenty of land for a car park, so should be made to build their own and not use the public car parks and block the roads.

 315.

Q29 more police around to control speed.

 316.

Q27 motorcycle.

 317.

Q29. More effective enforcement , for example on Nicker Hill.

 318.

Buses to Loughborough would be useful.

 319.

No speed ramps, why should we be penalised for the sake of a few boy racers. Also don't go down the route of too much street clutter, signs, warnings etc.

 320.

Specific areas, i.e. close to school, health centre, may need resident zones.

 321.

Keyworth is getting very congested. Church Dr is bad for parking.

 322.

Bus service to Nottingham is good but not cheap. Could be better services to outside places like East Leake, Bunny, and Wymeswold. Also should be regular service to Asda.

 323.

The bus service is expensive, (same price to West Bridgford as to Nottingham).

 324.

Parking zones? - depends where and how many

 325.

Additional comment to question 33 - I walk

 326.

Most people who use the Village Hall car park are there for a special reason, i.e.. to make use of the facilities. To charge them would appear unfair.

 327.

I think that in Budgens car park there are people who park in there and go off to Nottingham to work. In fact I know of people who do this. But to put a charge on parking there would affect the very people who use it for shopping and leisure centre.

 328.

If there were a car park charge after first 2 hrs maybe local people would be able to use them. This would stop teachers parking all day at Budgens car park. The Health centre car park has people who park all day and go to work in the city on the bus. It would be good to have a bus service to Loughborough.

 329.

Q35 In trouble spots there should be time-limited parking, especially people do not leave their cars all day outside someone’s house, as I understand this is becoming a problem.

 330.

Except in school holidays it is impossible to use the car park behind Budgens. The education committee should face up to the fact that teachers etc, drive to their place of work and provide more parking at South Wolds, perhaps alongside Wolds Dr, thus removing a strip of playing field but perhaps ridding Church Dr of the inconsiderate parking.

 331.

At present car and van drivers know there are no restrictions on anything they do i.e.. parking, speeding, tax evasion, seatbelt wearing, excessive noise. It is about time Keyworth had regular policing.

 332.

I do not currently see a problem apart from disabled access to the pharmacy. However, if Keyworth was enlarged, even minimally, parking problems could become acute. Q29. If there were pedestrian crossings on the "ring road" in Keyworth, i.e.. Prices corner, in the Square, at Nicker Hill junction, on Willowbrook, this would automatically control the speed of vehicles.

 333.

Speed control is a problem on Station Road and Wolds Dr, both roads are frequently used in a "race track" manner by inconsiderate drivers, with scant respect for residents and other motorists.

 334.

Footpaths on Nottingham Road are a disgrace and also the cheap resurfacing on Wolds Dr. A lot of businesses depend on people being able to park, take this away and they will go away too.

 335.

1st 2 hrs free then all day fixed fee.

 336.

Too many cars parked outside South Wolds school during school hours.

 337.

I would like a bus shelter at the bottom of Nicker Hill.

 338.

Q29. Speed checks on Station Road and Bunny Lane.

 339.

Living on Poplars Close, concerned about speeding drivers coming round the bend, slow sign needed.

 340.

The emergency services travel far too fast for safety within Keyworth's built up area, esp. around Normanton Lane/Nicker Hill/Station Road junction.

 341.

Not sure how resident zones work, so I need a little more info on the idea.

 342.

35 - In agreeing with this question, I am referring primarily to Church Drive where it must be a nightmare for residents to access/exit their properties in school time.

 343.

Would like bus service to provide an alternative route around Keyworth (opposite direction).

 344.

Evening bus services to Nottingham should be more regular than hourly particularly at weekends. Not sure that parking charges are necessary, inconsiderate parking however needs to be dealt with.

 345.

Typical parking max 15mins

 346.

Only parking issues I am aware of is the lack of parking at Budgens due to school cars parked there. Also concerned with speed of cars up and down Wolds Dr.

 347.

Enforce no parking on double yellow lines, mainly in the Square.

 348.

You cannot park in the car park on Church Dr during the week due to South Wolds school. To try and drive up Church Dr with all the parked cars is a nightmare. Surely the school could utilise some of their land for parking.

 349.

People use both car parks at Budgens and Bunny lane all day to park their cars and then use the bus into Nottingham. These car parks should be 2hrs maximum

 350.

Would like to see Main Street sorted. Parking areas mean very narrow drive through near Post Office.

 351.

Buses only travel one way round Keyworth.

 352.

I find bus travel very frequent, The bus stop in the Square often has vehicles parked there on the yellow lines. I walk Wolds Driveevery day and there is a lot of parking mostly half on the pavements.

 353.

I'm against paying to park, as when I do drive to the Square or any of shops it's for a short time (collecting prescriptions or going to Post Office). I know this is personal but this must apply to many other residents.

 354.

Bus to Loughborough would be good, esp. on market days.

 355.

Bus service is excellent. Would love to cycle out of Keyworth to Asda and West Bridgford etc, I do use Melton Road but its rather busy and unsafe.

 356.

Think there should be better disabled parking.

 357.

People who use Bunny Lane car park and then bus into Nottingham for the day should pay a fixed fee. Other users, over a short period, much less and elderly should be provided with a free time limited sticker for here and other parking facilities within the village

 358.

Speed limit required in Debdale Lane.

 359.

One bus an hour needs to come the reverse direction to enable people to get to the village or home with shopping from the village.

 360.

20mph speed limit in Keyworth.

 361.

Church Dr is particularly difficult and parking should definitely be restricted (residents parking zones) Car park charges- 2hrs maximum parking 8am-6pm with subsequent fines thereafter.

 362.

Chicanes are more effective than speed ramps and less of an obstacle for emergency vehicles. Parking by the few non-residents working in Keyworth is not a significant issue.

 363.

Parking should be very low priced for up to 2hrs and very high for all day.

 364.

Parking on Church Dr in term time is a big problem and a great hazard to both pedestrians and road users and should not be allowed.

 365.

Enforce law regarding parking on double yellow lines.

 366.

When we use the car parks we stay for max of 45 minutes

 367.

There are so few properties without parking space adjacent to the house that there is almost no need for parking zones. Encouragement to use parking on properties rather than the road would improve traffic flow esp. on Manor Road and Nottingham Road from Nicker Hill to Sainsburys.

 368.

Many people park on Bunny Lane car park and take the bus to Nottingham. Most days by 10am the car park is full. More disabled parking bays are needed.

 369.

I have tried cycling to work at QMC but the roads are quite dangerous between Keyworth and Ruddington. A cycle path here would be a great idea. Also a bus service to QMC that operated for people that work there would be good. There must be a lot of Keyworth people who commute to QMC or the industrial park on A52.

 370.

Q29. Parking fines for lazy drivers outside chemist on double yellow lines. Keyworth streets are too narrow to support cycle paths. Travel to other towns is very limited. Pavements and kerbs are poor in places and more dropped kerbs needed. We do not need to drive away shoppers who come to Keyworth and support our shops. However, those who park and go into town by bus should contribute something if they take up a space all day. There is a danger that the Parish Council would lose users of the Hall if parking charges were introduced. No real solution to the debate.

 371.

Teenagers should be stopped riding on pavements

 372.

Q29-Rumble strips at the village boundaries.

 373.

Parking fees would discourage people and businesses from coming into village.

 374.

The 30mph limit should be painted on the road as well as being displayed on road signs.

 375.

A small charge should be made for car parks up to 2hrs and a much larger fee after 2 hrs.

 376.

South Wolds school do not help with the parking problem on Church Dr, teachers and Staff park on the roadside.

 377.

Parking on yellow lines is ignored and should be stopped.

 378.

Parking is adequate. Villagers should walk if they find a problem! At least there are now lights in the car park next to Buzz!

 379.

Parking should be charged only if the revenue went to Keyworth to help maintain paths etc.

 380.

Parking on Church Dr is intolerable, most of it caused by inconsiderate parking.

 381.

Parking bays in new car park are too tight with limited manoeuvrability

 382.

Buses are totally unreliable. A minority ignore the 30mph speed limit, particularly on Nicker Hill and Selby Lane.

 383.

Buses, alternate routes around Keyworth, like it used to be. A bus service to Ruddington Park and to Loughborough.

 384.

20mph limit in Keyworth.

 385.

More yellow lines near school entrances.

 386.

Cycling around Keyworth is quite frightening, We NEED cycle lanes. Also need a better evening bus service.

 387.

We need parking charges to pay for better policing of general parking. The first two hours should be free, so anyone wanting to use the shops and facilities can do so easily. There should be a huge fee for all day parking, and it should apply to roads themselves, not just to parking areas: for example, the majority of cars that park on Church Drive are the same cars every day - there must be a better place for them.

 388.

Desperately need electronic warning signs, all the surrounding villages have them. I hate speed ramps. Where is the public transport link to the University and Clifton? Cycle tracks and cycle parking would be good for primary schools to save using cars. Pavements are terrible, it's very difficult using a pushchair and also for pedestrians. Dog mess is a problem on pavements. Need more police/ traffic wardens to put current restrictions in force.

 389.

We need the bus to give a reverse journey to and from the village like it used to be.

 390.

Some buses should go up Nottingham Road to the Square instead of them all going up Nicker Hill and Wolds Dr.

 391.

Transport for Keyworth is very good, but the cost of bus keeps going up, I would use it more if it was more competitively priced.

 392.

There should be restrictions on Church Dr opposite houses. All problems here and in adjacent PUBLIC car park are obviously caused by the school, just look at the area during school holidays and the recent teacher's strike!

 393.

The Tavern car park should be available for shoppers on a short stay basis.

 394.

Higher police profile, We already pay for it!

 395.

Bus service to city is good, but to other villages, poor. Cycle tracks are OK but they need to work properly and not be just token gestures. There is not much space for a set of tracks. Short lengths that go nowhere are pointless. Car park fees are a nonsense unless there are real problems of business users filling up car parks. So far as I know and observe there are no problems like these. Resident parking zones only work in larger areas where there are alternatives for non-residents, I do not believe we have a real problem with parking for residents, other than that caused by residents who have 2 or 3 cars of their own.

 396.

I call at Health centre to collect prescriptions, so use car park for 5-10mins at a time, I would not be prepared to pay for such a short stay.

 397.

I enlarged my off-road parking area because of school traffic and problems with roadside parking. However I do not think it is a significant problem and the greatest issue is families having several cars.

 398.

Bus to QMC is v convenient, however it stops running at around 4pm, given that visiting hrs are 2.30-4.30, it makes life difficult to get back. Also difficult if you have an afternoon appointment. Sometimes doesn't turn up at all, it would be nice if it were more reliable.

 399.

If car park charges are introduced, more people will park on the road.

 400.

Other speed controls could include chicanes, lane zones (traffic at walking pace in some low traffic residential areas). Should be very slow speed limits (with timer controls) around schools as children are going in.

 401.

Parking on Church Dr should be banned. Residents of Church Dr have difficulty driving off their properties.

 402.

As someone who gets around Keyworth on foot, most of the time. I am continually frustrated by lack of consideration shown by the majority of motorists. I find that car parking on pavements is an irritant and that cars completely blocking the pavement is completely unacceptable.

 403.

Householders who never use their drives/garages but park usually half on pavement.

 404.

Church Dr and Brookview Dr junction with Main Street should have double yellow lines on both sides of road. 20mph limit near schools.

 405.

Church Dr/Fairway junction is big problem with parking on Wolds Driveoutside Budgens, could double yellow lines be introduced. Traffic calming measures outside Willowbrook school are insufficient and poorly signed.

 406.

Charging for car parks and resident only zones would drive shoppers out of village. Insufficient spaces in public car parks.

 407.

Charging for car parks will send more people parking in residential areas causing more problems than ever.

 408.

The Health centre, should the "no entry" signs at the back of the centre be on posts nearer the village car park at the back of Buzz Fitness, as so many people for the Doctors car park go that way?! You see a lot of people don't go through the Dr's car park but use the old entrance.

 409.

Church Dr residents suffer greatly from uncontrolled school parking! When I have to use my mobility scooter to shops/health centre it is purgatory using pavements, appalling surfaces!

 410.

I am v frustrated by the number of thoughtless drivers who regularly park across my drive for easy access to shops and Budgens

 411.

We feel it is unnecessary to have buses every 15mins during the day (between 10-4pm) this could be half-hourly.

 412.

Most people park responsibly in Keyworth. There are problems around the Square where people park outside chemist/bank.

 413.

Pavements are very uneven and also grates are higher on some of the paths.

 414.

There are places in the village such as main street / Brookview drive, where there are known issues with people parking causing issues for residents. Consideration should be given to a roundabout or 'turning circle' at the top of Brookview Drive / Main Streetreet junction for cars using main street or perhaps make Main Street pedestrianised.

 415.

Pavement parking is a big problem. Difficult for people with prams, disables etc. Also difficult for neighbours reversing out of drives to have clear view of any oncoming traffic!

 416.

Bunny Lane car park, rear of Budgens and Main Street should be restricted to 2 hours. The Village Hall should be long stay for businesses. Church Dr and Wolds Drivefrom Budgens to Cherry Hill and Budgens to the Fairway should be double yellow lined. Traffic wardens to police these areas and the Square. Road junctions should be double yellow lines for 50 yards.

 417.

Walking in Keyworth can be a nightmare due to poor quality of pavements in some areas, overhanging and protruding bushes and shrubs from people’s gardens and cars parked on pavements. Although we support parking charges after 1st 2 hrs, we feel that some provision should be made for car owners who work in Keyworth, notably South Wolds school. To price them out of car parks and give residents only parking zones would only push the problem to other areas of the village. School should be approached and if necessary legal measures taken to ensure they provide parking for their staff, as we believe this is the only way to solve the nuisance that this problem is causing to the village and especially the residents of Church Dr.

 418.

I work nearby at Ruddington Hall but since there is no bus route I have to drive. I am sure I would not be the only one to appreciate a REGULAR SERVICE to Asda and back.

 419.

2 hrs free parking in the health centre car park but not Budgens

 420.

Parking can be a problem for some residents in older parts of village

 421.

Should be more mother/baby parking spaces available. I park in village and struggle to get my baby out because spaces are not wide enough.

 422.

Parking for all the shops in Keyworth is a problem but luckily I can walk to Budgens or cycle to Square.

 423.

I can get a bus to the Square to shop, but I can't get back! If a bus service is available, I do not know of any information/publicity about this. I can't walk that far and I'm not sure many other elderly/disabled people can either. People who work in the Square should not be allowed to park there all day. Time restrictions should apply. The new car park is often full, people are parking there all day and catching the bus to town. 2 hour restrictions should be ample time for people to visit the shops/doctors.

 424.

The electronic speed display signs on A60 nr Bradmore are a polite and effective way of controlling speed of local traffic. I would much prefer this, rather than strict enforcement which would merely antagonise locals and cause resentment. Permit only parking is more suitable for urban areas and would spoil the community feel of our village. It would severely limit access for elderly, disabled and pushchair users who use cars locally.

 425.

The Church Dr public car park is filled with South Wolds school users for 5 WHOLE DAYS EACH WEEK, so how can we use it? Nothing is done about it>

 426.

As a supply teacher it would be impossible for me to share a car.

 427.

Work to get tramline out to south of West Bridgford, to take in Keyworth, Tollerton and Cotgrave.

 428.

Public transport available to the Square but NOT to return. Also, bus stop at top of Fairway needs to be relocated further down, as majority of users would benefit.

 429.

Parking in Keyworth is an issue, Drivers should be encouraged to use safe public car parks and discouraged from roadside parking. The latter should have more enforcement/penalties.

 430.

I am not a car owner, so have to go with a friend, but I know parking is bad so we go to Morrisons on the bus and just shop in Square weekly.

 431.

Bunny lane car park often congested or full, probably due to out of village commuters and workers from outside.

 432.

Nearly every other outlying district around Nottingham has a cycle route to city centre. I consider it v important to provide similar facility for Keyworth residents.

 433.

Parents parking badly around Willowbrook/ Fairway and surrounding Closes cause obstruction and lack of visibility. Speeding drivers along Selby Lane/Willowbrook/Bunny lane.

 434.

Village facilities are used but people from surrounding villages who make no financial contribution via their parish rate. It seems unfair that the burden falls upon Keyworth residents

 435.

Car parks get very full, need to ensure that they are not being used by people from outlying areas who park all day and use the buses from Keyworth.

 436.

Buses are not available in both directions, which is inconvenient when shopping in village

 437.

Double yellow lines should be put down Church Dr, parking is bad and someone will get hurt.

 438.

Keyworth lacks a cohesive transport/car/pedestrian use policy. Need to adopt principles used in Holland, inside village - better landscaping and traffic calming measures. Giving priority to pedestrians and restrictive control of access to large commercial vehicles to less busy hours.

 439.

Traffic wardens should check car details, i.e. blue badges. Too many dumping cars wherever they want, even in a dangerous position.

 440.

Permit only would be better around Church Dr and South Wolds school. Develop further car parking spaces at the front and sides of Leisure centre, seems to be wasted space and just traps litter

 441.

Bus to QMC needs more advertising and could be more frequent. A more regular bus joining outlying villages would be a godsend.

 442.

People who have drives should park on them leaving spaces for those who haven't

 443.

I think that people should be encouraged not to use their car all the time for driving round the village. Could there be designated places for South Wolds to park? People should be fined for illegal parking

 444.

Fixed taxi fee into Nottingham 2hrs free parking - more for 4x4s and Jags

 445.

Old cookie about people driving to Keyworth who leave cars parked whilst travelling into city by public transport hence favour car park fee over two hours.

 446.

Q31 I share driving with a neighbour

 447.

I had appointment at Drs, but new car park was full at 9.30 am. A number of people from surrounding villages are leaving their cars there all day while they use the bus to go into Nottingham. There are a few residents who cannot walk far but who do not qualify for a disabled badge. The same applies to Wolds Dr, students from school leaving their cars there all day leaving very little space for local shoppers.

 448.

The practise of parking in Keyworth's car parks all day to get on buses to go into town should be stopped. Car parks are not big enough to support this, esp. the one by the health centre.

 449.

For the elderly it would be useful to get public transport directly to village centre. i.e. along Normanton Lane and Nottingham Road

 450.

Charging for car parks would be a retrograde step. Shops are important to residents and charging for parking would mean many shoppers would bypass Keyworth and go to out of town supermarkets where parking is not a problem. Keyworth shops are struggling and need all the support they can get.

 451.

Car park on Bunny Lane is not big enough. You can't park to visit Drs never mind shopping or any other business

 452.

Usually only use car parks when taking my elderly mother to Drs, dentists or opticians

 453.

Yes, particularly on Main Street where as a resident I spent long periods of time circling Keyworth looking for a space to become available.

 454.

Not enough buses at night to Nottingham. Only 1 per hour.

 455.

Need cycle/footpath linking Keyworth and Cotgrave!

 456.

I would like to be able to park my own car outside my own house but other people are often parked there. Bus service is often, but they need to be more precise on the times esp. in the mornings because it used to make me late for work regularly so I drove instead. People would use it more if it were on time.

 457.

20mph speed limit. Residents parking would help in some places like Church Dr

 458.

Lack of parking for older cottages on Nottingham Road means traffic cannot get past. Cars speed down Debdale Lane, frequently over 30mph en route to council estate. Too much illegal parking, people ignoring yellow lines, esp. in Square and near Plumtree chip shop

 459.

Resident parking has proved good in other areas and would encourage people to use car park or even walk.

 460.

I think pay and display would be good idea, however we need more parking places

 461.

Local bus frequency could be increased, particularly 61 and 29 services i.e.. Cotgrave, Keyworth, Ruddington, QMC, cross country services. Also service which covers Kinoulton, Hickling, to both Keyworth and Melton needs greater frequency. These areas are otherwise only accessible by car, except for hourly main rd service to and from Melton Mowbray. Parking in designated areas should be free in order to reduce dangerous random parking, which causes congestion and danger. A separate area should be provided for park and ride or improve the bus services so they wouldn't need to use the car. Use the railway line fro Edwalton, Tollerton, Plumtree, Old Dalby, Melton Mowbray and link to local bus network and local trade and industry.

 462.

Parking of cars should not be allowed round the shops

 463.

If you have a drive and you park your car on the road you should be fined. We have 3 cars and no off-road parking facility, so have to rent 3 garages from council at a cost on nearly £100 per month.

 464.

Suggest first 2hrs parking at low rate i.e.. 20p. Thereafter higher rate. To prevent all day parking.

 465.

I strongly feel the Health Centre car park should be used for patients only and a stricter eye kept, as people park there all day.

 466.

Would like to see bus route through Ruddington from Keyworth

 467.

Very hard to park, as a parent I do not use my car only when I have to leave the village, but I walk everywhere with my children, so don't often have to park here.

 468.

Car parks should be free, but in certain areas i.e.. Nottingham Road outside the school, should be residents only parking, as this causes traffic to back up. Also residents parking on Main Street as parked cars ruin the historic look of Keyworth.

 469.

First 1 hr free and at least £5 for all day.

 470.

I live on Manor Road cul-de-sac. I am pleased that school back gate is now open but we do have a problem with parents parking in this area, so they can drop off their children for school.

 471.

Car parking on Bunny Lane should be 30 mins free then, after made to pay, all day fixed fee. As I know people from Tollerton park their car all day then get bus to town cause its cheaper.

 472.

No pedestrian crossing in Square so difficult to cross because of volume of traffic and parked cars.

 473.

Put all day parking fee at £15 and over 2 hrs at £2 per hour.

 474.

South Wolds school needs a larger car park to prevent roadside parking on Church Dr.

 475.

Bunny Lane car park and rear of Budgens car park should be limited period parking to prevent free use of all day parking by users who are not local residents.

 476.

Car park charging or residents parking would also require enforcement. That would mean t
